Current generation speedometer

Post by 93forestpearl »

I was looking over the six speed sitting in my garage and I couldn't find a place for the speedometer cable to hook into. Are the new cars all electronic, as opposed to using a cable? I'm wondering if I'm gonna have to get a speedometer out of a GD, or something else.

New cars use electrical speedometer pickups instead of cables, yes, but I think our cable can thread into the spot where the VSS goes in new transmissions.

you just need to pullout the electronic VSS and your cable should thread right in... thats what i did for my tranny (01 rs 5mt)

Sweet. I was hoping I didn't have to tear into the dash of a newer car at the JY.
