1991 EJ22T + Crank play $350 OBO

Post by wtdash »

Engine was bought as short block w/approx. 170K.
- Found excess play in crank (in/out) when replacing rear main seal. Installed Heads/Intake manifold (new OEM gaskets), but decided I didn't want it to fail on me or someone else.
-Told it ran fine when pulled, but I have NO maintenance history.
- New OEM waterpump, cam/crank seals, rear separator plate.
- Advised to split block and replace crank/thrust bearing??

Have most, if not all, accessories (as of 8/15/09) to make complete drop-in motor....if you want to risk it 'as is'.

If I can't get close to my asking price, I'll make it my Fall project to fix/build a beast.

Shipping? Probably not worth it.

I'm near Spokane, WA. Likely headed to Seattle end of Sept., and willing to deliver for gas $$.

Thanks!

Should be able to get that easily. I just recently sold just the block halves from my EJ22T for $300. I sold the crank, rods and pistons for $100. I paid $350 for the whole motor but didn't want to rebuild it.

Soon I'm going to have a subaru garage sale with all the leftover parts I've collected over the last year. So I'll make hopefully a few more bucks off that motor.

If no one wants it for $350, part it out. Someone will buy the block for $300. That motor looks a hell of a lot cleaner than mine did.
