Which seafood restauraunt is a must eat in Seattle?

Post by skatedees »

Greetings!

I'm from Wisconsin, and come June, I will be visiting my sister in Seattle for a week. My question is easy......

What is your favorite seafood restauraunt in the Seattle area and why?

Being as far from the coasts as possible, I'm hoping to eat some delicious seafood. My sister isn't the biggest seafood fan, and she hasn't lived out there for too long so I can't trust her knowledge. So I thought I would ask the locals what they thought......

Any comments appreciated......

Thanks 8)

Elliots along the water front in Seattle is pretty good. I'm sure there's others, but it's pretty good and prices aren't ridiculous. Hopefully some others will chime in some other places.

What part of Seattle does your sister live in? What time of year are you going up there?

Ivars has a real restaurant or two along the waterfront, there is also McCormick and Schmicks, and there is Anthonys.

The Met is mostly a steak house, but they also have seafood sometimes. However, The Met is on the pricey side.

Thanks for the replys........and the links...... this helps a lot.

777- I don't know exactly where she lives. I probably should know that, but you know....... I'll be there early summer, June. From a Wednesday to Monday.

I plan to eat good food and go rafting down the White Salmon River. Other than that, the usual touristy things. :smt109

If it's a nice day, I do recommend the Space Needle, but that's about all I can recommend for the touristy things.

Not for food he doesn't :P. Overpriced and mediocre quality, IMO. Sure, view is great/novel to get a slow 360* view of downtown during the meal. If you're set on it, I'd do breakfast at the needle. Cheapest and hardest to mess up.

Can't forget about the Pike Place Market... flying fish, etc. The place is hoppin' on the weekends and meh during the weekdays.

I didn't say anything about eating there! Plenty of good places around the Seattle Center to eat.

+1 on Anthony's, there's a nice restaurant and a normal restaurant. Ivar's is a waste, it's the McDonalds of seafood, and while I don't mind it, it's hardly good seafood. There's a place on Alki I used to eat at a lot, but I can't seem to remember the name of it.

Hey thanks for all this info everyone.......

I'm really pumped for this. According to my sister, we are going to the needle, some rock n roll museum, a glass museum, pike's market, Mt Rainier, rafting, aquarium, and as many of these restauraunts as possible.

All in a 4 day span. Hopefully I can fit most of it in.

If anyone else has anything that is a 'must experience' , chime in!

Thanks again!

Good choices! Sounds like the usual Seattle touristy stuff. The rock and roll museum is the EMP, my brother does a lot of the design for their posters and signs, and some other things.

SciFi is part of EMP, though I'm not sure if the tickets are the same, my brother designed a lot of the stuff for that too :P

But they aren't mixed together, or at least weren't last time I went, also the last time I went, tickets were either for both, or one or the other.

Yeah don't take any pictures in the EMP, they have nightvision cameras and guards on crack ready to kick you out! Guess how I know...
