Light Bar / Push Bumper setup

Post by SWRT »

Does anyone have one on their Legacy? I've looked all over a couple different sites and I cant seem to find one.

I'll be interested in seeing it if you can make one. I was hoping someone could
give me dimensions and I could probably do one on my own.

I put a foot of angle iron on top of my liscense plate and put fog lights on it, if it counts as a light bar.

Pretty creative :D I just drilled mine into my bumper. I'm looking for either a light bar that can house Hella's or a push bumper than can move trees and crap.

You could probably fit Hella's on a bar like mine, if the holes were drilled further out.

If I ever get around to it, I'll probably expand my current bar into a skid plate/ bull bar thing sometime and then it will mount to more than the two liscense plate screws too. I would probably extend it out towards the sides of the car and down the face of the bumper and tie into the sub-frame along with a skid plate. And I would probably use tubing for the extentions and downward bars but keep the angle iron for the lights, skid plate I'm not too sure about yet. Feel free to make something based off of my description too.

I was thinking something like this except obviously run the bar below to the frame
and maybe through the grille to support itself on the strut tower...or something like
that. I was just wondering if anyone made anything this in-depth. I mocked this
up a few weeks ago.

Im mocking something up for this right now. Its just cardboard with wire duct taped together so i can make sure its going to fit while being able to remove it if need be and still be able to keep my grill in place with minor grinding. This is what iv got so far. The bottom half is going to have a sort of Z looking thing welded to the bumper beam, and the rest of it will be in one piece and will bolt to the bent Z mount and then to radiator support beam. Should have at least 6 inches of clearance so i should be able to fit some hellas in there. We will see. When this becomes metal i will measure and have more pictures.

Lol. I know what you mean, I can't view any pictures, video's, or anything streaming:( They emailed all the employees to let us know that the web security is going to be a white list thing. Which basically means that we can only access the sites that are on that list:( I'll have to bribe them to put BBS on it.

just changed the pictures so they are during the day. I know the setup looks sloppy, but im just trying to figure out the best configuration so that the lights dont bounce to much. I freakin hate that. Measure 15 times and cut once. I promise when its done it will look proper.

I dont think this thread is in the right section. Isnt this more of a body/chasis thing?

I'm sorry for putting this in the wrong spot. And I forgot
to check this out last night again. I'll take a look at it when
I actually remember to do it at home haha

Its just a yakima bar and clamps with a bracket i made that bolts to the bar. The bracket has holes in it for the lights.

That's awesome and it has great bracing! The only reason I wouldn't
want to do it is because I tend to push stuff with my front bumper.
I would be afraid of breaking the lights that way.
