WRX Struts on 92 Legacy

Post by Baddog »

I have some 04 WRX springs sitting around and am in search of WRX struts to put them on for my friends 92 Legacy LS. I read in the sticky above that this setup can cause the spring to be loose? Is this true? Other then STI struts is there another option for struts (OEM) not KYB's or anything. I am looking at more so 02-07 WRX Struts.

Thanks

It's been a while since I've read that sticky, but I'm guessing the springs are a slightly smaller than the strut perch. Would that be correct? You could try using some rubber cushions to help take up the extra room. If I'm way off base let me know.

yes, with this set up the springs are slightly short for the struts. I used some 05 wrx struts with some 05 sti springs and everything works fine. The spring shortness is so minimal, I didn't notice a difference but the handling difference is amazing compared to our oem "wore-out" suspension.

I just installed 06 WRX suspension (springs/struts) Rear top hats/strut mounts were from a 90 Legacy. Since she owns a 92 LS. Everything bolted right up. The rears were kind of a pain to get in at first. But the improvement is amazing just like it was on my 96 L.
