any chance the forum could be changed so that link open in a new window? (90% of browsers open into new tab)
there's been a few times where ive clicked a link to read something and forget to go back and closed the window(tab)

Unfortunately there's not an easy setting to change this behavior. I'm sure there is a hack out there that would do this, but Dave's preference is not to run hacks because they need to be applied every time the software needs to be updated, which can be a pain since sometimes the hacks are not updated when the phpBB software is updated.

There may be a behavior for it depending on what browser you're using. And, depending on the age of the laptop, there may be a gesture for center click on the touch pad. Try two fingered tap on the touch pad.
