Alternate sedan spoiler options

Post by Ghost »

So say somebody wasn't really happy with the original spoiler... and also didn't really like the look of GC RS spoilers (sedan/coupe)

Anybody ever try a AW11 MR2 spoiler:

or E36 M-Technik spoiler?

I'm leaning towards the MR2 spoiler. One angular car to another, and I think it would go with the feeling of the 90-91 pre facelift.

I think a simple ducktail would look good. Someone on here has a Skyline R32 GTR spoiler on his SS and it looks pretty factory, and good.

Once in the junkyard I saw a 1st gen with a late 80s/early 90s escort GT spoiler, and that thing looked 100% legit. Not as aggressive as the others, though.

Pictures!!!

Nother option, what about an E30 M3 wing? It sort of has something the MR2 one doesn't but keeps the boxy.

I'm pretty picky about spoilers but I'd sooner go without one then change it to a different one.

I feel much the same way. Just exploring around right now to see if something looks good enough to tempt me.

Maybe lips or duck tails are the way to go, a little more assertive and a little less aggressive.

I hear youm. I think its a little hard to find one that's the right size and fits the semi-boxy yet semi-curvy body lines of the 1st gen. I think that r32 spoiler on Jsun's car is the best one I've seen but its still a bit much for my taste. I think they pretty much nailed it with the stock spoiler though. I've seen an sti spoiler on a 1st gen and it was terrible.

I really like the look of the the Syms (sp?) spoiler on the white BE in the rotating pics. I wish they made one for the BC.

Edit: just saw it. Belongs to DLC.

Yeah the stock spoiler is just right IMO. I think the car looks naked without it.
