What else to replace with Tbelt?

Post by Nissan-Subaru »

Ok going for the timing belt and water pump
replacement this Saturday.

Since I’ll be down there what else should be changed
or fixed?
How many hours do you think this might take if I have
tools available?
Do I use a Subaru belt? Or do you suggest a different
brand?
Model #?

Thanks!
John

What else to replace with Tbelt?

Also, replace ALL seals (oil pump, cam & crank)-look CAREFULLY at the oil
pump-they tend to leak externally after 100k-possibly replace as a good
maintenance procedure. Have a dealer/Subie tech check the tensioner & idler
while you have it apart. If you`re going to all the trouble of getting into
the front of the engine, make sure you don`t skip these items. It`s more
time & money, but less hassle later & cheaper than a re-do (take it from
someone who knows.)---ROD (AZ.)
