Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?

Preferably get a set of brakes that are 276mm and use pad shape d929, which is more recent. So, for example, a non-turbo impreza newer than 2003. I think even 2015s use the same brakes. Or, if you are using rally specific wheels the larger 4-pot subaru labeled brakes will also fit, and not alter br...

Re: Muffler option for people looking - Magnaflow

You asked: I guess what do you think I should do, wire in a wide-band where the bung is now or get a stock one installed into the stock location? I replied: You want the wideband in the existing hole, further away from the turbo. Further into the turbo?... I don't get But anyway I think I'm just go...

Re: Muffler option for people looking - Magnaflow

You want the wideband in the existing hole, further away into the turbo. Wear out faster is relative. A brand new wideband 02 sensor will last a couple of years. One thing I don't like about the whole narrow band "dummy signal" to the ecu is the ecu won't be able to adjust the fueling mix...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?

So this is what I thought "276x24mm This uses a two piston sliding front caliper and there are three caliper/bracket designs. One for the 91-94 Legacy SS/TW, an early Legacy 2.5GT/Impreza RS bracket (~96-99), and a Later RS/GT bracket (03+). It's possible to exchange some of these calipers onto...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?

Check out the "sticky" in the brake section, look for the compiled brake information thread. Has the brake pad and caliper information for most all modern subarus. Regarding tires, the poorer rally guys actually use studless snow tires. The real rally tires come in 15" of course, but...

Re: Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?

Would putting 205/70R15's on a first gen mess it up?

Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered?

Why does every site only show rear pads when filtered for a SS? It's very annoying, what front pads does the SS take? Is it the same 2pot as the 98-04 LGT and 2.5RS? Looking for some breaks and tires for a road going rally car... thinking the Hawk street 5.0 unless another company has something. Tir...

Re: Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe

Whats the best oil and filter to use? Just 5w30 synthetic? Oil catch cans and coolant reservoirs aren't strictly necessary, though I think a catch can has it's benefits if you have a lot of oil blow by. The legacy turbo PCV setup is different than the later WRX and sti's. A catch can must not be rou...

Re: Muffler option for people looking - Magnaflow

Thanks, Right now I have an extra 22T O2, but on the O2 on my car there are just 3 wires on the O2 and 3 white wires coming from the engine and thats it.... So your problem is the car side wiring is missing the plug? Or the plug still exists but the wires got ripped out? Both the car side and the i...

Re: Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe

Do the 22T's have the little filter bolt in the oil line that newer turbo cars have? The coolant may keep circulating but does the oil? Idk I also think heat shields look cooler, but maybe ill get a blanket. What about other little bits like an oil catchcan or an aftermarket coolant reservoir? You n...

Re: Muffler option for people looking - Magnaflow

Most likely the lower 02 bung is for a wide band, a little further down the exhaust path away from the turbo. Helps them last longer ;) Ahhhh is that ok? Everyone I have talked to says to move it back or it wont work right. Could I run a wide-band on the stock ECU or a Robtune? You can run a wideba...

Re: Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe

Good to know on the radiator. Hood scoops - nothing fits. Some people epoxy on later scoops over the hole, etc. You could cut and weld if you like, but since the turbo hoods are so rare, you should use an n/a hood for that. The stock turbo heatshield/ducting (called the turbo chimney) is great, but ...

Re: Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe

Don't worry about it at under 400+whp. The stock system isn't the restriction under that, and making the passages larger, gasket matching, etc, will hurt your spool time, response, and low end power. The 22t, 20g, 20k exhaust manifold is nearly identical to the later stuff, and our up pipes have no...

Best manifold/up pipe/down pipe

Is the stock 22T manifold the same as like a 02-07 WRX/STi one? What would be the best to P&P and stick a grimspeed X-pipe on?

Thinking a grimspeed uppipe to match? IDK

What's the highest hanging DP you can get?

Re: Muffler option for people looking - Magnaflow

Wait so a performance muffler is in between a stock muffler and no muffler? Who'da thunk? I have 3" everything with a huge greddy can I plan on changing, right now I would consider it "loud". Is this for a turbo? Yeah, some weird DP with a slip joint, 3" the whole way back, the ...
