Not sure...it's whatever color red the MY90 came in. According to the Cars 101 archives, Rio Red is the only color red on the list. There's no Mica flakes in the paint so I'd assume it's Rio.

First, the good:

Very little rust; dings and paint flakes touched up
Yokohama A550H tires with one season on them ...

The question isn't "is it too low", it's "is the rear too low compared to the front". Look at the pic. The rear tires are inside the fenders while the fronts have 1.5" of gap. Putting GC8 springs onto a Legacy Wagon will result in an uneven drop and sketchy handling.

You'll be way too low in the rear. I just posted about this.

I literally just posted about this. GC8 Whiteline. The rear is quite sagged. I'm sourcing wagon springs on Saturday.

Well, one of the Trunkmonkey guys will be pulling the AGX/5Zigen setup off his 2.5 RS and replacing it with the STi Gymkhana kit, so he'll be tossing the 5Zigen springs my way. I'm a little leery of them, but I figure I'll try them out.

So I'll be getting new MY92 FWD KYB GR-2 struts and GC8 STi ...

Hrm...I've got a spare 18-22 bar hanging around. Methinks I'll try it out if the car understeers too much after putting the new suspension on.

So, what's a BJ6, then? I have an MY90 5MT/FWD Legacy L Wagon. Is it kind of like the GC8 Impreza, which doesn't exist on our side of the pond, but everyone calls it a GC8 anyway?

Yeah, I generally stick to NESIC and just do searches. Again, you guys rule, and I've added all your info to my original post. Hopefully that will help out other gimps in the same situation that I'm in.

The newer struts should work. The 93 Legacy has the non-tapered springs, I believe that's the only difference. I don't see how the struts would differ.

OK, then how about using MY93 rear suspension bits instead of MY90 rear suspension bits? On TireRack, MY93 rear FWD wagon KYB GR-2 struts are $58, while MY90 rear FWD wagon KYB GR-2 struts are over $100.

I know the hub carriers are different - the fwd strut bolts in the way of where the driveshaft would go.
