Those look just like the ones that I pulled off a Legacy EJ20G motor, that flow-tested at 440 and 444cc.

Mine fit in the 1991 EJ22T rails just fine.

Thanks Matt, I'm trying to decide what to do. I've also thought about running the 20G with the 22T ECU and sensors, I'm just not sure what would happen since I am running the Revtronix chip, and it was tuned for the higher displacement. It might be worth a try though. Since I've got an extra 22T blo...

Here's mine. I use the bands from NAPA to hold the places I think would have slippage issues. I use an eBay 5-ply 90* on the turbo. Unfortunately, after I had put 20k mi on the motor (swapped from another Turbo Legacy) during daily commuting, my brother was borrowing the car and managed to hit a dee...

OK, here's the present plan so that I have an "interim" motor. I'd like to build one all up and stuff, but quite frankly I'm not enthusiastic about putting that much dough into this shell (I'd rather do it with a GF Impreza or a 98GT wagon frankly). EJ20G Legacy heads EJ25D manifold (the o...

Well this time around I ordered a 06-07 Samco TMIC hose, hoping it would work better. WRONG! The angle to the turbo is no good. Now I have to return it and get a the 02-05 kit again. *sigh* I took some pics of mine the other day, you have to modify it, but it works great. I'll post the pics tonight...

Wanted: vacuum line restrictor

I need one of the little OEM vacuum hose connectors that serves as a restrictor in the line running to the BCS. Does anybody have a spare one lying around?

I'd rather have a whole set of custom I.D. sizes for testing purposes, but I can't find any place that sells such an animal.

What type of power do you want to make and how much do you want to spend? I really don't have a budget, I'm just trying to keep it low and use parts I already have. Power-wise, I'm eventually expecting to be able to use a VF39-class turbo at moderate boost levels with 550cc-class injectors. I guess...

Pics not for a while, I've been meaning to shoot the mods in the engine bay next time I have things apart. Basically, I put the little glass bowl filters for an air compressor inline with the PCV and the valve breathers right before they go back into the intake. I also drilled a couple of small hole...

The WRX header is identical, except for the O2 sensor hole. AFAIK, the STi is also the same, diameter and all.

The WRX turbo-back exhaust diameter is 2.25", where the STi is 2.5" AFAIK.

My STi exhaust is extended at the midpipe, and the hanger points on the muffler are moved.

You probably noticed the flat "buttons" in the casting just down from the ports on the driver's side. This is one location that is suggested by multiple sources. That's where I put mine. However, while this gives a more accurate reading of the actual temps nearer the cylinder, it does not ...

Replacement engine - rebuild questions?

So, I want to have a "hot spare" sitting in the garage now that I have gotten the car basically under control and running like I want. I don't want to spend a TON of money building a motor from the ground-up, I'm not racing the darn thing. But, knowing very little about engine machining/bu...

I don't have a pic immediately available, basically I used the middle-"Y" portion of the 06-07 Prodrive hose and had to extend one side and also the turbo leg with 2" pipe. A stock STi 90* or 4-5-ply eBay 90* both work on the turbo side. It's solid now, I use the NAPA constant-torque ...

Normal, as in the setting on the Revtronix chip, not the Power mode. Make sure the switch/jumper is in the right position when you swap ECUs.

I would still replace the ECU, check the engine harness wiring closely, and start over......hopefully you get it going, I sure am having fun with mine!

Oh, are you in Normal mode for this troubleshooting, I hope?

It seems obvious because it's been covered elsewhere, but the wiring for the knock sensor at the white connector on the firewall side of the connection has a tendency on these vehicles to fray and even separate over time. Check this connector and take it a part and re-solder if it looks at all suspi...

Why not use the ECU that came in the car instead of the one that came in the auto? I would start there, do a reset of that ECU, and see what you get.

The CEL blinks steady once clear memory mode has been entered. After that, drive home, shut it off, and disconnect the test plugs.

I put an N/A tranny in my turbo, and with the Stage 2 I am making quite a bit over stock power. I have had a OEM equivalent clutch in there for 20k mi and have not burnt it yet...I don't drop the hammer from a stop, but I do shift fast once rolling. The biggest improvement for gear grinding, etc, is...

Hmm, if you want the technical specifics, as it seems you do, the best place to ask would be the company themselves. All we can do is tell you what they've told us, implied, or that we've observed.

log1call, Revtronics does not replace the ECU, it simply is a memory chip that plugs into the existing processor. As far as I know, the Subaru ECU that we have will take a long time to raise the spark correction once Safe Mode has been entered through knock or some other factor.

The workshop manual is talking about the original subaru ecu, you have a revtronics, you need to refer to their recommendations surely. Clarification: the Revtronix chip plugs into the original ECU board to provide new mappings, it does not change how the ECU works. BSOD - it's not clear to me if y...

I thought I read somewhere in the FSM that the dealer SSM tool (whatever its fancy name is) could clear CEL codes? If that's the case, then some part of the ECU is writable via SSM... Maybe. However, the target features of the programmable chip basically preclude the SSM interface.... * Reflash and...

The VF-8 spools later and has more top-end than a USDM TD-04.

Others here have run the -05 and -39's and can compare them for you with the typical 22T setup.

Rebuildabilty I have no idea.
