EJ20G -92, valve lifters (HLA) click, some questions.

Hi there. First off, sorry for creating a new thread on the subject, but hear me out: A while ago, my Legacy started clicking from the heads. Assumed it was the lifters, and after reading on this forum I reached the conclusion that it was the HLA's that were acting up. Because of the fact that it is...

Okay, a question for you guys: I have been trying to remove this plug now, but it won't move, not a single bit. I have tried: -1/2" pneumatic wrench -3ft pipe and socket wrench -rust loosener -hammer -heating gun ...and a combination of all the above. It WON'T move. I haven't had the guts to pu...

It's ok. I had a feeling that you meant no harm, and neither did I. I just felt that I had pointed out in my original post that I had done my homework, and then finding someone coming here and pointing the stick at me, well, it just didn't feel right. Will have a look at the clutch, thanks for the t...

This has to be done to remove the engine. Its a pull type clutch. There is a wealth of information on this forum. Search around for a while. I do. Yeah, you don't have to come here and tell me to search, alright? I have plenty of forum-experience, and I DO search, ALOT, if I'm about to post a subje...

Nope, I'm leaving the tranny in the car, it's just the engine that I'm pulling.

No one has any ideas on rebuild, tuning or parts?

EJ20G, engine pull and rebuild, some questions!

Hi there! Been reading on these forums for quite some time, ever since I bought my -92 Subaru Legacy Turbo back in march last year. For a while now, I've had 2 problems with my beloved Subbie: 1. Oilleak from engine onto exhaust, and 2. A valve-lifter that knocks some when the car is cold. Now, a co...

Update: Well, not feeling like waiting for you guys to give me a reply (I guess most of you are in a different timezone and were well asleep earlier today), I took off to a shop and asked for a new alternator. 270-something € was the first bid I got. I almost swallowed my head! Jesus-H-Christ! After...

i am probably wrong, so someone else chime in, But I would have to say that the alternator would have nothing at all, zippo, zilch, nodda, nothing to do with the speedometer problem in a 92 SS. The speedometer, is connected to a metal cable, which is attached to the tranny, which inside the tranny ...

Alternator given up?

Hi there! Quite new to this board and to the world of Subarus, but I really need some expert guidance here... About 4 months ago, I bought myself a -92 Subaru Legacy Turbo. Great car, and I was very pleased with it. Well, today I got my drivers license back after the police having it for nearly 3 mo...

Ok, thanks about that. Now, if I want to remove my steeringwheel (since it seems to be easier in the long run and "safer" too...), do you have any tips about getting it off? I've never found a good way to remove a steeringwheel, always just brute force (on older cars), but I don't want to ...

How do I get the instrument cluster out?

Hi there guys! First time poster here on the site, hopefully not the the last post! :) I bought myself a Subaru Legacy Turbo 4WD -92 about 3 months ago, and I've really had a joyful experience since! When I bought the car, I also got myself a Haynes Service Book for it, because I know how useful the...
