Hi all, My 1991 AWD Legacy 2.2 5mt n/a has a rattle and resonance at 2-3000 rpm only under load. The car has no noticable rattle at lower rpm, higher rpm, idle and none reving at idle. I'm thinking either the catalytic converter or associated piping is making the noise as I have replaced the midpipe...

the reason for the rebuild is bent a conrod (long story) and big end bearing noise.

I am in the process of rebuilding an EJ22 N/A engine , and i was wondering what are the two halves of the block sealed together with and is this the same stuff for the oil sump seal, oil pump seal and the other parts on the block that need sealing? The reason I ask is i don't want to have to seal it...

Bypass Air Control (BAC)

How do I adjust the BAC and TPS ?, i could'nt find any reference to their adjustment in the manual.

The reason I ask is they are (after being changed) in different positions so they need to be reset again.

According to the sub serv manual its a BAC valve.

Had another look at bad idle situation, replaced BAC valve, still surged, replaced idle control sensor, still the same, replaced ecu still the same hmmmmmmmmmmm then i pulled the hose off the egr valve blocked up the both hose end and manifold end then reved car 3 k rpm then put hose back on and hey...
