The fluid swap worked, thanks guys

Yesterday I took the car over to Jiffy Lube and we swapped out the transmission oil. We replaced it with synthetic which is quite expensive, but it appears to work. I was down a couple of days ago in Witby, near Toronto, taking Eva's Subaru to be serviced and had a chance to talk with Mark, he runs ...

Delayed for a short period of time, as I'm experiencing problems with my tranny.

We shall overcome.

Resistance to turning either right or left, transmission????

I've been noticing this for quite some time, when I start up the car and turned to get out of the driveway, it's almost as though the front wheels were scrubbing? The problem is it's intermittent, took out to a parking lot today and sure enough with the steering wheel approaching lock it just didn't...

Persistent, but so far undetectable, fuel leak

This has been going on for about seven months, and it's driving me bats. So let's get the details, about seven months ago I started to smell gas, decided that I was overfilling it and I was smelling the gas from the recycle line. Everything was okay for a while until I got so bad in the car that you...

I'm ready to install a Saab intercooler

Okay guys is the second try, the first one just disappeared but I just don't know where it went, and it ain't going to tell me. Just to give you a little background, last fall I installed an MBC and a gauge on my 92 legacy. Over the winter I gradually increased the boost pressure until I'm running a...

Just to let you know you're not alone, my 92 Subaru has exactly the same problems. Normally the boost runs up to nine PSI and stays there without any problems. Then inexplicably the maxim boost I can get is about five PSI exactly as your telling it. Just about the same time that you did it, I replac...

Thanks for your reply, the car is a 1993 legacy. An additional clue is that when I'm having trouble the boost gauge goes up to about five psi as opposed to normal 8 1/2. I put that down to knock sensor pulling back the timing. But who knows? The guys I've talked to around here seem to think that my ...

Error codes 22 and 23, knock sensor and airflow sensor

Well it's taken a long time but were finally on the trail, over the winter my gas mileage has been reasonable and then abysmal, so I figured coil, plugs, etc. then a couple of days ago I got check engine light, which led me to the following error codes. Error codes 22 and 23 both relate to the amoun...

THanks

Hi guys, I like to thank both Richard and Vikash for their good advice. Who would've thought that you could have a car with the Turbo the didn't have a intercooler. I previously had an Mr2 93. Yup, there's no question you definitely have to have an Intercooler before you do anything with the boost c...

How can you ask, 93 MR2 Turbo with all the mods you can put on it, including the scoop, so you can just hear the Turbo spool up GGGrrrOOOHS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately Subaru people have never really heard this. O by the way the only mods it was not really worthwhile was a lightweight flywheel. It wa...

Keep the MR2

Well I think that most people have indicated that you would be foolish to get rid of the MR2. I owned and 93 MR 2 on which I did very serious engine modifications. I think just before I rolled it ,that I had dino 350 hp at the back wheels. Dino printouts available upon request. But that's what was, ...

Ooooops,

Guys, you know we old-timers are generally only allowed out on the weekends, and generally after dark, that way the risk of offending anyone is minimal.

Your replies are greatly appreciated!!!!! :-D :D

And yes, I will try to join existing discussions, thanks.

OK "Mr. know it all", I basically searched around all afternoon and basically haven't found why my idea is so terrible. On the Turbo section there are good reviews for JoeP, TurboXS, and Turbosmart. Actually J Lee is quite enthusiastic about his Dual stage TurboXS. I also encountered an ar...

Just starting to modify, ain't it great!!!!!

Hi guys, I've just inherited my wife's 93 legacy Turbo and of course I want to up the power. I'm thinking of starting with the boost gauge and a manual boost controller. I've randomly picked Hallman for the boost controller, but would appreciate any input you might have on this topic ie. What succes...
