Re: Looking at this wagon 2006 SUBARU Legacy Wagon 2.5i Lt
Yeah, there's something to be said about the older Subaru's. They were just more raw and connected than the newer ones. I've noticed that as well. Even between my 97 Impreza and the 06 Legacy I had....I like feeling connected to the car, the road, etc......and I feel a lot of new cars today are mis...

Re: Looking at this wagon 2006 SUBARU Legacy Wagon 2.5i Lt
Well that's sad to hear the Legacy is going away, but it's probably for the better. I think you made the right call on the 06 Legacy. The new foresters are nice and hopefully this one will last you a good while as well. Yes i think I did the right thing as much as I like the look of the 06 Legacy I...

Re: Looking at this wagon 2006 SUBARU Legacy Wagon 2.5i Lt
I bought an 06 late last year, and being that it was from the North East had a bit more stuff to clean up, which I did, and wasn't a big deal. However, for me, when it came down to it, I just didn't care to drive it. There was quite a bit of lag with the e-throttle, which made driving it (it was a ...

Re: Our Room mate scored on a 98 Legacy Outback
Oh ok that makes sense. When the leak gets back enough it will push exhaust into the coolant on power stroke and suck water into the cylinder on intake stroke. Why not try to do it yourself? The only outside cost besides parts would be the machine shop work. I'd personally have the bock and the hea...

Re: Our Room mate scored on a 98 Legacy Outback
What do you mean they showed you the leak? The headgasket leak I referred to is not visible externally. If the headgasket is the problem and the engine is rebuilt properly with the new multi layer steel gasket (block and heads shaved) it should be just fine. The guy at the shop ran the car with the...

Re: Our Room mate scored on a 98 Legacy Outback
It would be better to replace it with an EJ22. No head gasket issues and they're cheap. Cheaper than rebuilding heads and replacing gaskets and labor costs. So should I check around in some of the Engine (the EJ22) whats the over all cost ? We did price on engine but I'm not one who would be instal...

Re: Right side Headlight has gone dim just replace Alternato
It sounds like there is a draw somewhere in the wiring or possibly some bad wiring or a short. Do you have a multi meter to test voltage and check resistances of the wiring? That's really what I would suggest doing if you continue to have problems. installed another light it works fine tested all n...

Re:
+1 with ciper - beware of headgaskets on 2.5 DOHC's. 100% of the people I know with 2.5l Outbacks (just 2 people - 1x1997 & 1x1998) have had multiple headgasket problems. Well i should have listen you you two as this is what has happen the wagon is parked and sitting ow as the heads start to wa...

Re: the key ignition interlock solenoid sticking after drivi
Did you end up getting this figured out? I need to wait for some funds to take it to the shop. Talking to the Shop it ether in the shif...
