Re: Tony's 91 SS 29Dec R.I.P.
He told me he didn't have insurance and that he owed me a car. ... ... wouldn't have expected that. Since it's unlikely he'd actually pay up anything regardless, I'd just use the situation to make F&F quotes relating to him owning you a 10 second car. Gotta have fun with it someh...

Re: Tony's 91 SS 29Dec R.I.P.
Holy wow. I'm sure anyone riding in your back seats would have been quite a bit more sore. As much as it sucks all you can ask for in a situation like this is to have yourself out in one piece, and to not have to deal with seeing anyone else badly injured. Was the Camry driver not at fault for this?...

Re: spark plug out, white smoke
I don't honestly think a piston would have hit the plug. That isn't something that just happens without something else MAJOR going on that I'm sure you would have noticed. You can have the thread in the cylinder head repaired, it's not even hard to do yourself with a thread repair kit, but it requir...

I think mine was a February car. Hard to believe it's older than the majority of people I work with, when it was the newest car I ever owned at the time I brought it

Re: How many miles?
My wife actually got an '03 Cube 5 months ago from a dealer with a 3 month warranty and only moderate mileage, nearly perfect outward condition, fresh inspection and all new fluids. I went with a private sale Forester with kinda high miles thats in somewhat rough shape and had some creaks and rattle...

Re: How many miles?
My Legacy only had 168,000ish, about 50,000 or so from me in 7 years. In the 12 years I've been driving, I've never owned any car for more than 2 years except my Touring Wagon, and the Subaru's I've had are the only cars I've owned that never left me stranded or unexpectedly didn't start for work in...

Re: New clutch slipping after install
I've been paranoid about accidentally catching that guy when putting my trans back in. Not nearly as bad as it could have been.
The clutch fork looks normal to me. Did you drive the car to verify clutch slip or did you assume the noise was the clutch disk?

Re: New clutch slipping after install
If you can get a hold of a bore scope, they work magic for giving a peak at the release bearing to make sure its engaging the clutch fork and pressure plate properly. Of course more than likely you will need to pull the trans (or engine) back out regardless

The side sills are designed to develop additional drainage holes at the rear over time to counteract this issue.

Re: How-To: Convert To GD WRX Coil On Plug w/EJ20G ECU
I had to read up on ground loops to understand where you were coming from. So would you suggest those of use that have the coils grounded to the mounting bolt instead run the grounds to the main ground on the intake manifold?

I say chances are decent they will bring in more. The radiators are the same as the early WRX, so the supply is out there. I remember ordering parts in the past and they were put on special order from Japan.

Doesn't make sense to me that a damaged parking pawl would cause the issues with driving forward in the way you describe, as I've known vehicles to still be drivable with a broken parking pawl. But nonetheless, whether a front diff or parking gear, it's probably most labor and cost effective to repl...

I have an aftermarket OE replacement one on my wagon for 7 years now holding up fine, including autocross duty. Don't remember the brand though. They have the same size core as OEM.

I've always just used a brass hammer or nonmarring mallet to bang the control arm a few times, and it pops right out. Maybe I'm just fortunate on the rust front, lol.

Re: No CEL's on a tuned car?
I'm pretty certain none of the available tuning options would have disabled CELs except for maybe the boost control solenoid. And with stock pink injectors its very unlikely the car has a tune anyways. Does the CEL flash steadily to indicate that there's no codes, or does it not flash at all? You su...

That thing is so nice. I actually saw a clean wagon similar to that for sale back where I used to live, well within my budget. Its rare I see them without lots of rust and missing half their paint. I almost cried.

The 4EAT, 5spd, and 6spd all use completely different AWD systems believe it or not. So a comparison of feel between the 3, while informational can't be used to judge condition.

If I recall stock size for the STI is 225/40, yeah you probably need spacers or to go with a slightly smaller tire.

Re: 4eat differntial problem?
The way you say "super faint" makes me think you're just feeling the AWD work and not that its necessarily acting up. The grab and let go thing is exactly how the center transfer clutch pack works to drive the rear wheels. Doesn't sound to me like you have anything to worry about, dependin...

Re: My JDM Legacy B4 RSK
The 4th Gen didn't really suffer from it IMO. But then again the 4th Gen still had the very un-Camry 2.5GT and wagons. If the current 2.0GT/Touring Wagon came stateside I don't think the Camry sentiment would be nearly as strong.

I also noticed there was a version number written on my chip when he gave it to me, so I wouldn't be surprised if little things like th...

Re: RobTune: knock light flickering
From my experience overboost fuel cut is a total fuel cutoff. Back when I legitimately would hit after my exhaust/MBC/TD04 install, the car would abrubtly lose all power for a second and then go back to normal. Its nothing like the cushy cutoff you get when bouncing the red line.

Re: My JDM Legacy B4 RSK
I'm willing to bet they are the most popular Legacy's to date. It seems successful mid size cars need to: A) look like a Camry. B) expand to completely dwarf their original size class. And C) completely abandon the enthusiast niche.
