sounds like the problem might be "in" the ECU. find a good ECU and plug it in and see if the problem gos away.

was the noise you herd comming for the fuel pump? if it was, then the pump is working. if not, check the wires for continuity. (set your multi-meter to ohms, unplug the connector at the fuel pump. take your (+) lead to one end of the circuit and the (-) lead lead to the other end and if it reads OL ...
