Re: An ECU scan tool for turbo and NA owners
i can tell you with certainty that there are many of us who use the EJ22 as a transplant engine who are still using the B10. for those of us in california, the EJ22 is the only california smog-legal transplant into the volkswagen vanagons and westfalias. until recently there weren't any other tools ...

D-OH! THANK YOU log1call, that was the problem! why, you might ask, did i not check the 'subaru' box for my subaru ECU? ok, i feel a little dumb, but i reasoned that since checking the 'subaru' box gave 4800 baud, whereas checking 1G/OBDI gave 1953 baud (which i thought was correct for the select mo...

just wondering - which version of evoscan did you all use with the new and improved Data.xml? and did you just substitute the new file for the old one in the data files subdirectory? i tried using it with v2.5 - i check 1G/OBDI/ALDL, but then when i select my ROM ID (SSMI 7032XX) from the ECU list, ...

thanks chester...unfortunately i have JDM injectors which have completely round gray/beige tops with a blue dot. there are no tabs or convenient places to pry, and i'm worried about forcing them. anyone else successfully removed such an injector? like i said they rotate (with some friction) but will...

removing stubborn fuel injectors?
can anyone give any sage advice on removing stubborn fuel injectors from the fuel rail? i'm trying to get them out to send them for a professional cleaning. (this is a 1990 JDM EJ22 with injectors that have, well, maybe grey or bluish caps.) i pulled the fuel pump relay while the engine was running ...

i've been playing more with my TTL-232R cable and the vwrx software. to summarize, i get the ROM ID read fine, then a few parameters read fine, then some garbage (0's and -128's), followed by re-synching for a few parameters, etc. etc. on and off. iyesterday i tried running a port monitor from sysin...

phyrram - i tried using the same exact cable as the one you show in your post, the TTL-232R-WE, and connected it the same way. it read my ROM fine, so i know it is hooked up correctly; however the data would read fine for a few parameters, then go to obviously bad data (0's, -128's, etc), then recov...

EJ22 Service Bulletin on Code 13 and engine stalls
I just came across an old EJ22 service bulletin, which has some additional info on the Code 13 for 1990-1995 Legacys, thought I'd post it here as an FYI. "If you are diagnosing an SPI vehicle...and there is a Code 13 in the ECU memory, do not replace the crank angle sensor just yet. It is norma...

i just wanted to say thanks again to vikash for writing this tool, and especially for posting it as open source. things like this are the truest spirit of community on the net...seriously! one question for anyone here - has anyone compiled info on what these parameters are and what values they shoul...
