Thanks for the reply. I used a stethoscope but there's no real way to diag the driveshaft while it's moving. It's possible that the driveshaft may be transmitting noise to the transmission because that's where I'm hearing it. But yes you're right.. I will drop the shaft to inspect and maybe try anot...

Diagnosing Sound

I'm getting a clicking sound from the transmission. 5spd turbo 306,000kms. Had it in the air.. it's either a bearing in the rear of the transmission, or it's a driveshaft. It's clicking at constant speed. Anyone have this issue? What's a bearing sound like when it's on its way out? Also, do all 90-9...

Yeah good point, the WRX(3.9) axles don't have roll pins and the RS(4.11) ones do.
And 5spd RF corner. I have yet to put it in the air but I will post back with my findings for future reference.
Thanks.

Axle compatibility

Hey all I'm new here - just bought a 92 SS.
I'm wanting to know if the axles from a 00 Impreza RS are compatible with the Legacy trans and knuckles.
And FYI yes I am too lazy (busy) to spend my time searching!
Thanks.
