Re: 22T Block halves, Re-sleeving for 2.34T.
Has anyone re-surfaced cylinder sleeves before or know if it is practiced?
Please take a look at the scaring on my build page. (See Build Thread) Specifically page 2 CYL#2
Do I re-sleeve or is it re-surfacable?, and if so, by what method?
I do not want to scrap this block.

Re: 22T Block halves, Re-sleeving options for the 2.34T.
Are the sleeves fix-able?
Is re-surfacing the sleeves an option?
The last thing I want to do is scrap the entire block.

wow. thank you for reply, well that is intense.
I am pretty capable when it comes to messing with mechanics, am I foolish to think I can do this on my own?
Those prices are way too serious for my build.

Can these sleeves be re-surfaced?
Happy new year all, I have two engines, one is 22T from a 91SS and one is 98 Legacy GT DOHC. I ll be installing the DOHC heads on the 2.2T block, after the 2.2T cylinder sleves are replaced. Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx
I will, thank you, - also I neglected to mention the idle is *perfect* with the green connectors connected - Its actually below normal, as I adjusted that Big screw eariler - inward/clockwise - so the idle is around 500-750 with the green connectors connected. When I take the green connectors apart ...

Re: low idle problems
You want to do this. This is the best thing about your car., if no check engine light is on, go for a drive in d-check mode. After 1 minute of driving, the check engine light/CEL will flash you the codes in morse code and identify a problem-s Its best to do this with someone in the car to read the C...

Re: low idle problems
The IAC is on the passenger side of throttle body, slightly below the intake manifold. On the intake there is a larger"1inch?" tube running off the cold-air intake ducting -into the IAC face, right after the MAF sensor. Three bolts holding it to the intake manifold and 3 tubes are attached...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx
Well, i had the chance to test some things this weekend, I swapped the 98 IAC back in to test with the 98 MAF and now the idle is near steady at 1500ish, at best. I ran it in D-check mode following instructions and and the only cels reported after 1 minute are 42 and 52 repeated. - When I had the 92...

I have not adjusted any stop screws, as the manual says not too. Im using the 1998 SUFARU FORESTER 2.5 maf P/N 226800-AA160 R60, GREEN LABEL NUMBER 7903A - Note: when i have the 98 Maf in its doing the 3k rev. - I had in eariler the 1992 SUBARU LEGACY 2.2 MAF P/N 226800-AA160, R60, GREEN LABEL NUMBE...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx.
ok, well I had the wrong idea here , I assumed the fast idle screw is the one you were talking about screwing clockwise. and not the fat screw in the pictures to the far right . so of course i screwed the fast idle screw clockwise and the idle went to 3500. - That fat screw would barely go any furth...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx.
I have the exact same throttle body as that, except mine is cleaner. J/k. I have that upper screw in picture# 1 backed out all the way, rotated counter-clockwise entirely, so it doesnt even touchdown. I expected this to cause no-start/ no-idle as the throttle would be closed. I assume that by screwi...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx.
This morning I unplugged the ECU and sure enough there is no line comming from slot 20 on b48. I made a line and seated it into the connector and atteched it back up to the ECU and ran the wire to the battery ground. still high idle at 3k, with no connectors connected and no CEL plugged black connec...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode. RESOLVED. many thankx.
You mentioned you had those codes with the green connectors connected. Do you have those same codes with just the black connectors connected? - Iflash AOK with black connectors connected, CELS only with green connected. The idle switch may also be an issue that's causing the high idle. - ill try ru...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode.
Yes, wiring is good, I grabbed another MAF from a forrester i put in the graveyard a while back and now there is no idle oscilation. However, the idle is near 3k. always. I hav to keep my foot off the clutch slightly at stops and while shifting, so it doesnt zoom up to 3k in between gears. No More C...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode.
since my post last, I cleaned the IAC for the 92' and reseated a good gasket, - I cleared the ECU several times for good measure and on first starts, I have the engine running w/c idle oscillation from 750 to 2500 and the only code i have is 23. irregular MAF sensor signal. I read on here that swapi...

Re: pretty sure I am in limp mode.
When I use the 91SS IAC and MAF I get codes 23 and 49., how ever the car runs in cripple mode, timing retard. When I use the 98 IAC p/n 22650-AA033, and 91ss MAF I get code 23 aand 49 = same thing. When I use the 98 IAC p/n 22650-AA033, and 92L MAF I get code 23 and it runns like dump. When I use th...

as far as I can tell the power is very near in comparrison. I m using the 22t IAC and MAF so I m checking on code 42 and 49.
I will grab the IAC and MAF sensor from the 2.2 to satisfy the computer so I will know better this weekend.
