Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

They were already in really bad shape when I stored them away. I bought new ones for my impreza so I thought these were to be stored away for good and didn't think of soaking them in oil at the time. Oh well, we'll see what a lot of soaking, a good cleaning and some sandblasting will do to them.

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Ouch, 3-4 years in a box did no good for these. Time to soak in diesel for a month or two.

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Well, we usually end up doing it the old way anyway. I'm always at my brothers place when working on any of the cars and since he is always there we do it together. We have talked about buying a quality power bleeder for quite some time as I agree with kimo that the cheap ones are rubbish and we do ...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Yup I know them, I like power/vacuum bleeders better though. You don't have to get in and out of the car, plus you only need one ;)

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Still stocking up on parts while waiting for spring to arrive. Bought a couple of bonnet dampers earlier this week. I hate those, but the OE stick gets in the way all the time so I'm giving it a go. http://www.stutterihedegaarde.dk/jsn/legacy/buildjournal/37_bonnet_dampers.jpg Today I placed an orde...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Ordered a set of bonnet dampers. Normally I hate those, but the stick holding the bonnet is silly, so off it goes.

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

No pics of the badges fitted yet, the car is being prepared for respray so they are not going on for a few months. I can take a pic of the badges laying on the rear garnish next time I'm at my brothers place. They are the exact same size as the original badges and I will mount them with adhesive fro...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

I'm only using them for montoring temperatures during trackdays and will hardly look at them for daily driving, so my only concern is that I will forget to look at them. I almost never look at the instrument cluster during a trackday, so they will still be out of sight. They do come with warning led...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

It may be changed, more about that later. Today it was time to get rid of this ridiculous shelf in the center console. Nothing stays there with just the slightest amount of acceleration, so out it goes. http://www.stutterihedegaarde.dk/jsn/legacy/buildjournal/35_centerconsole_1.jpg Now I got room fo...

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

Picked up a set of 17" Speedline 2014. One was bend and dropped off for straightening on my way home. They will all be resprayed in another colour later. I believe they are made of magnesium alloy, but have no idea of weight yet. http://www.stutterihedegaarde.dk/jsn/legacy/buildjournal/33_speed...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Ordered brand spanking new front wings and scheduled a vehicle emission test to check if it will go through MOT without tampering with the ecu.

Re: Speedometer not working, where to begin

It turned out to be a bad wire under the dash running from ecu to instrument cluster - was fixed last weekend by the tuner, took him less than an hour to figure out... sometimes it is just easier to ask

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Mike was so close I decided not to comment on it, but it says Skassa Edition and yes Skassa is the tuner :-)
(I showed it to him today and from his laughing I concluded it was okay to use it - oh and he also fixed my speedometer during the weekend, he is a hero)

Re: I Hate Wi-Fi!!!

Maybe your wifi adapter is about to die or your router for that matter. We had an adapter that almost died before Christmas and it only killed upload (went to about a 1/1000 of normal rate), download worked fine. Changing hardware and everything went back to normal.

Re: HappyFrog's 1992 Legacy Turbo

More badges on it's way. A fellow legacy owner wanted a set as well and I decided that the subaru one would look tame next to the nice alloy one :) The last one is a bonus made by the machinist, will reveal it later. http://www.stutterihedegaarde.dk/jsn/legacy/buildjournal/31_badges_raw.jpg Also bou...
