Use the Subaru OEM gaskets. The Fel-Pro are known to fail again posthaste.

Re: 3.90 VLSD axle stubs

Really it's just the one stub with the longer bit on the end that engages the VLSD carrier that you would need. That's the one that still shows up in Subaru's parts system, but may be un-orderable. It's listed at $130-some odd dollars. It's much much easier to put a newer VLSD from an All-Weather pa...

They will fit and work, but no VLSD action unless you get the right LSD stubs.

I've purchased some hard to find items there before. That's awesome if they have more oil squirters. They were showing zero available last year.

Were you able to get the OEM oil jets? They've been NLA and out of stock for a while now I thought.

It's usually fairly cheap to have A/C lines made. I have paid around $20-30 a line for that sort of stuff before.

Re: Ej22 engine mounts on Ej22T

They should fit, the mounting is the same. Are they reversed side-to-side? That's a common issue. Generally, the mounts can be different but the bracket that goes with the mount will always properly bolt to any EJ. Subaru changed mount/bracket design several times over the years, but I always keep t...

Yeah, EJ255 heads can only go on EJ25-sized bores. Your planned combo isn't going to work out.

Re: 20g valve pucks.

There is no adjustment on hydraulic lifters. "Hydraulic Lash Adjuster" or HLA means it takes care of that all on it's own.
Shim over bucket is a completely different thing, which you do not have.

Re: Ej22t/Eg20g hybrid headgaskets??

Off-the-shelf Wiseco pistons are also proud of the deck. They do increase CR by a half point in a stock engine though, so that's nice. You still need to use the thick 22T head gasket.

Re: Which clutch to use in a Ej22t swap?

Pinks are topfeed. You would need sidefeeds, so 440cc gray injectors or 550cc yellow injectors. Both require appropriate engine management to run. Either would work great with a TD04. You need to use a push-style clutch, but I'd recommend upgrading to hydraulic as well since the cable likes to stret...

In the US, all EJ engines were MPFI.
I know some foreign markets got carbureted EJs, but wasn't aware of an SPFI one anywhere. I'm wondering if there's some incorrect terminology going on here.

That'd be interesting since 96 heads have HLAs and take no valve adjustment. Not to infer that his 96 vehicle has 96 heads though, what with all the other modifying. Still have the factory airbox, or do you have a cone filter bolted to the MAF? If you don't have the stock airbox, get one. Clean the ...

Re: No reverse?

Almost definitely a bad reverse band then. Sadly, a pretty common issue.

The reason I asked about engine braking in first is because if that didn't work, it'd be the low/reverse clutch.
