David, I was interested in the crossover pipe that connects the exhaust manifolds. I was waiting to hear back how much shipping would be.Doaomo wrote:Bump - Please re contact me if I have not got back to you about needed parts, been super busy and neglected some PM's.

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
I was not aware that there was a sleeve on each injector previously. I looked at it again tonight, and the o-ring was so stuck that it held onto the sleeve like nobody's business! I was eventually able to break the o-ring and remove it, and once I did, the sleeve was sitting quite loose! The last in...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Wow, good eyes, guys! That does make sense; I'll have to take another look at it tonight or this weekend. Where were you before I ordered a set of fuel rails?!
This is the first time I've ever done anything with injectors, so I guess I'm a n00b in that department.

Re: FS: TONS of stock EJ22T parts!!!
Do you have any exhaust crossover pipes that run from the driver manifold to the passenger manifold?

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
I got a set of injectors and went to put them in today. I did cylinder #3 last (I think that's what it is, passenger rear), and the injector is different from the rest, as is the fuel rail! Has anyone ever seen this?! I was going to take some pics with my regular camera, but all of my batteries were...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Yeah, I plan to do that after checking prices for new cam and crank sensors yesterday. $100 for the cam sensor and $225 for the crank sensor! I will probably get just one injector for now and see what happens.

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
On second thought, if the car loses signal from the cam and/or crank sensor, it will probably shut the engine off, correct? Couple that with a potentially leaky injector(s), and that might cause the afterfires on trying to restart? The car had a bad cam sensor on the original engine when I first bou...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
I will check for codes and check the resistance of each injector hopefully tomorrow; the weather is supposed to be a lot nicer than it was today. I know what you mean about guessing. For me, it's such an odd thing that I've never really heard about or experienced before. I almost feel like I'd be be...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
I hate to bring this topic back up, but the problem has returned even with a new Walbro fuel pump. Did a clutch change recently, and noticed that my fuel pressure gauge has not worked since; I haven't looked into that yet. Car hiccuped a little bit while just driving down the road, then stalled with...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
I actually swapped it out the same day you posted, earlier in the day. The strainer or "sock" was no longer attached to the pump; it had broken at the neck and was in the tank, but I was able to find it and get it out. I put the 1.8 pump in with a different strainer. Drove it around little...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Ok, so I realize this is in the wrong section, but this problem is still ongoing. After getting 2 different MAFs from a junkyard on eBay, I'm starting to think this is not a MAF issue, and could possibly be a fuel pump issue. I currently have a Walbro 255 lph pump in the car. Would I be ok to swap i...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Yeah, I did replace the MAF with a different one; my first thought when it happened was that it was the MAF again. I got a "known good" used one from gijonas; it seemed to fix the problem for the most part for awhile, although there was a "hiccup" for lack of a better term, every...

Re: Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Hate to say it, but the same problem returned a few weeks ago, when it was pretty hot out; probably high 80s to low 90s with high humidity. On my way home from work, come to a stoplight, and the car stalled (A/C was on). Get it started again on the first try, light changes, and ~200 ft. later, if th...

So it's sounding like replacing it would be the better route, although I may try the cleaner and see if it makes a difference. Next question is what did you guys that replaced the MAF do; did you find a used one, or get a new (remanufactured) one? I checked with my friend at Autozone, and the cheape...

Dirty/bad MAF sensor?
Update in post #20...issue has returned! Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've been on here, since I finished my EJ22T swap in my '95 Impreza. I've had some issues lately where the car will just die while driving it down the road (bad & unsafe) or the highway (much more bad & dangerous)! Whe...
