Re: Flooding While Starting. Ideas?
Most likely cause is a failing Coolant Temp. Sender, This sender sends imputs to the ECM for cold start-up, as well as running. I have seen theses fail & not set a code. This causes Hard Starting cold, and rich running on initial start-up, even when warmed up. I second this; I had black exhaust...

Re: Strut swap + tire size questions
Well I mounted up my wheels and tires, ended up going with some 205/65/15's. I am still using the stock struts (one thing at a time eh $$$$) and I actually have the tiniest, tiniest rub on the drivers rear where the side of the tread is ever so gently brushing the undercoat on the strut. I am guessi...

Re: Bad transmission or Bad Car?
I bet you could have branded yourself on the transmission case after 15 miles LOL
Too bad for her, putting her trust in her mechanic's faulty information and paying for 3 transmissions (soon to be a 4th??) and still not having a car to drive. Lives and learns!

Replaced my TCM tonight
I had just put a used transmission in my '90 Legacy AWD auto a few weeks ago, and after the transplant, noticed it had a pillow soft 2-3 upshift and the power light was still blinking away on me, not to mention the torque bind my old unit of 221K had. I tried flashing codes but couldn't get a dang t...

Re: Bad transmission or Bad Car?
Are the gear ratios in the front diffs of these transmissions the same as her rear diff ratio? If they're different and you drive it long enough it would smoke the transfer clutches to the rear and bind up pretty bad. Look on the rear diff of your parts donor, there will be a tag on the cover (more ...
