Re: 2.2 not pulling coolant from overflow, continues to purg
here's my update so far: I did not do the thermostat..it didn't make sense to me to do it just because if the thermostat was ever a problem it would be overheating which is not doing as long as the fluids are there she runs just fine. I did however go ahead and get another radiator cap. So far I hav...

Re: 2.2 not pulling coolant from overflow, continues to purg
Doesn't hurt to try something simple first right!! I'll do that tonight or tomorrow and see if that's the culprit. Wouldn't hurt to do a coolant flush anyway, even though I know my fluids look good lol Yes the thermostat I have in there now IS aftermarket so that could be part of what's giving me is...

2.2 not pulling coolant from overflow, continues to purge..
I have a 92 subaru legacy 2.2 that I have had for 12 years. In that time I learned a lot about cars with her and with little to no supervision from my male friends have been able to figure out pretty much everything she's needed to be repaired on my own. Because I'm a girl, I usually get a run aroun...

Passenger Side Wing window Replacement
hello and G'day to you All! I have a question in regards to replacement of my passenger side wing window. Sadly, it was broken and now needs to be replaced. I know I could call my insurance company but my deductible for comp is 500, I don't suspect the wing window would cost that much but I'm unsure...

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
Yaaayyy new spark plugs and reset my ECU all is well and running ggrreat!!! So I have another question.. I have been toying with the idea of bringing my car some place to get the engine steam cleaned. I have been told that has been known to cause bad electrical issues down the road. The suggested me...

It's ok, between all the questions and information flying around I could easily have over looked it myself too
I am getting new plug wires today, the other's were factory and 4 yrs old. I will let you know what the update is once installed.

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
VRG3: The only thing is, I've had this car for 10 years...it's never acted like this and when I first got her I was not only surprised by the power she had but the fact she could make most turbos look like snails on the road (believe me I have the ticket list to prove it). She doesn't have the same ...

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
VRG3: I reset the ECU yesterday, it did run a lot better..gave it a lil gas..still ran smooth..took for a test drive..if I give it a little gas it runs top notch..if I give it just smig more..it goes back to sounding like there's an issue with the cylinder again? Silence2: I'll do that, doesn't hurt...

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
If you pulled the spark plug wire and the engine idle didn't change, the problem is likely with that cylinder. Yes I did that, and all changed the idle of the engine but the 1. Test the resistance of the "dead" wire and compare it to the others. Also, pull the plug and see what it looks l...

Re: Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
"Do you trust that your buddy would have noticed if the engine was overheating? If it overheated it could have blown a head gasket." Well the temp was normal when I got in and he had literally just pulled in a few minutes prior. In addition (which I failed to mention) I replaced the radiat...

Vacuum/PCV/Engine mounts?
I'm no mechanic and have recently started working on cars myself. It's hard to find information or help without someone either trying to take over or take one look at me and think I can't turn a wrench cause I'm a girl (true story haha). That being said I apologize if I sound ignorant being in a car...
