Re: Clunking noise when taking off in first
Mike, I have new Oem engine mounts, sti group n trans and xmember bushings, along with a poly driveshaft support bracket/bushings my all of the bolts are tight to spec. The diff bushings all look good, I'm planning on replacing them with poly soon, so one way or the other, those will be addressed, b...

Re: Clunking noise when taking off in first
If it is the u joints, that means I need the whole driveshaft right? I think I read somewhere those joints are not serviceable.

Clunking noise when taking off in first
So I am trying to pinpoint a clunking noise coming from underneath my car. It only happens when the car is in gear and does not seem to be affected by bumps turns etc. everything underneath looks to be in working order and everything is torqued to spec. I had a nut missing on my Trans x member, but ...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
^^ I have done the trunk and hood so far. Used a can and a half on the hood and a can on the trunk. If you keep layering the unevenness disappears. Looks good so far though. Doing the same to the rest of mine this summer. I went thru about 18 cans. I ordered the wide spray nozzle from dipyourcar.co...

Plastidipped the Lego today. I've had the worst primer job you've ever seen for about 4 years now, so I got motivated last night at 1am to head down to Walmart and buy some dip to try it out. Still kinda looks like a shitty primer job, but now it's a shitty plastidip job instead http://tapatalk.imag...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
Those tires don't really look good for ice and snow. I wish we had at least 6 inches because my car is a beast with VLSD in the rear and helical front diff. Yeah they're definitely not for ice and snow. That actually happened just trying to get home when it started snowing midday. I will definitely...

What did you do to your Subie today?
I'm good with the 3 days a year I get here. Nothing beats the central Florida winters though. And allnines, we got a mix of snow and ice. Everything is frozen over, no good for snowball fights, but awesome for driving Subarus.

Re: Should I dynamat everything?
I have most of the rattle pinpointed. Most of it comes from the center console and radio cluster. And I'm not sure I know what kind of foam you mean, like the adhesive backed stuff right? I'm thinking if I take the center console and radio cluster out and line all of the interlocking sides with the ...

Should I dynamat everything?
Since installing group n strut mounts, Trans mount and stiffer struts and springs, my interior is rattling everywhere. Anyone else have this happen and if so what are some solutions? I'm thinking insulating the undersides of all the plastic trim, center console etc might help.

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?
So my cel came back on and I brought it to a shop to read the codes. They told me the O2 sensor was throwing a code and that they could CHANGE BOTH MY O2 SENSORS FOR 600. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. Now I have owned my legacy since 2002 and I know for a fact there is only one O2 sensor...

I tried screwdrivers and coat hangers to no avail I'm pretty sure it's floating in the case now. I shined a barrel flashlight down there and I don't see anything. I've been driving it everyday with no issues, I'm going to attempt to remove it from the bottom this weekend when I get her on stands.

Re: Hood cowl questions
Well all the cowls in Virginia at junkyards have rotting or cracked rubber. Paying for one from the dealership is out of the question, I think they are like 180. I'm going to attempt to heat some rubber strips with a heat gun and get it to "form" to the cowl, my only other option is to cle...

Re: Working on drive train, disconect the sub frain!
Lining up the bell housing was the worst experience ever, I would go out of my way now just to be able to slide the tranny and engine into the car already connected together.
