Re: Help On Clutch Chatter
Well I was reading what Josh wrote about making sure to pull off the pitch stop when attempting to replace worn motor mounts. I didn't have a clue what a pitch stop was. So I downloaded some info and found some diagrams of it. It made me think that my squeking noise was coming from that direct locat...

Re: Help On Clutch Chatter
Good idea. I've tried to think on how I could pinpoint it but I can only make it happen when I'm driving. Short of climbing on the hood with my wife in the drivers seat... bad idea maybe. I'll bounce it around a bit and see what I can find. I've got my Chiltons coming from my Pop's house this week t...

Help On Clutch Chatter
I've been reading a lot about all kinds of varieties of subs having clutch chatter at all different mileages. The 1990 Legacy wagon I just bought does it when I'm not revving the engine enough, or let out the clutch too quickly. I'm used to a 93' Eurovan which hardly needs to be given any gas at all...

Drivers door not locking reliably, parts question.
Pulled apart the 90 Legacy wagon to fix a few issues inside the door. One: Door lock won't depress all the way and many times the front door will "lock" but won't close, even when holding the handle up. 9 times out of 10 if pushed extra hard the lock with depress and I can close the door. ...

Re: 1990 Legacy Wagon Gear Whine (how much is too much?)
Just checked the fliud in the transaxle, it's perfect. Stinks like hell, but that is normal. One last question. Will GL-4 give any noticeable signs that it's broken down? This fliud is still gold / yellow, smells normal, etc. This was the same instance in my van before I changed what I expect was th...

Re: 1990 Legacy Wagon Gear Whine (how much is too much?)
Ok, that is all good to hear and thank you. Here is another one. I've never in my life been able to hear the increase whirring noise when downshifting (at very low speed, I'm super careful, comes from driving a Eurovan 5spd) into first. Today I was really listening and I noticed it. I'm hearing that...

1990 Legacy Wagon Gear Whine (how much is too much?)
New to the board, just picked up the fourth sub of my lifetime. 1990 Legacy Wagon, 5 spd, with 135000 miles on it. Drives good, engine sounds perfect, runs smooth. So far haven't been able to ID any bind in the driveline around tight, slow corners. No rust on the body. Clutch seems good. The one thi...
