Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
My reference model came in a few weeks ago. Sitting my desk at work. Will be tearing apart the parts car over the Xmas break (two weeks of paid holiday!) and start the paint/rebuilding process. Hopefully my coilovers will have arrived by then too. :) https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-s...

Re: FS: 1991 Legacy Racing shell (light weight)
If I had completely trashed my Rally Car shell in my crash last month, I'd be looking to pick this up... Might need it in 2 months after the 100 Acre Wood rally.

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Right now insanely rich, but it is just a 2.2T with the turbo bypassed and a cork stuck in the IACV. Jankiest setup ever. However the donor car has a 2.2L NA engine with dual port heads. Sending the heads out to DeltaCam to get some new race cams, supertech valves and springs, as well as a mild port...

Picked up a 1990 Subaru Legacy parts car. Will be disassembling it soon and transfering parts to the rally car. Looking to get it ready for Sno*Drift at the end of January. 2 months!

What would it take to get that 2.2 NA engine back up to speed? Need one for my rally car.

Re: 91 SS to RSRA Spec bare shell complete restoration/build
Where did you get those Group A vents? Also do you have any reference material you are using? I have a 1994 Legacy that I rally (wrecked it last week during a 60mph corner) but I am rebuilding it and looking to paint it white and make it pretty close to the Group A look. Would love to know if you ha...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Perryville Forest & Farm Rally Recap! This weekend was a resounding success for me, even though I crashed hard 100 yards from the finish on the second to last stage. This rally was only an hour and a half south of me. It felt strange loading up the car and only driving a short distance to our h...

Re: Lightening a BC Legacy
I have a set of Al Control arms sitting in my garage for my GD WRX, but typically the steel ones are better for rally I have heard. I will definitly be looking into taking the bumpers off and getting to the bumper beams. They do allow for plastic/lexan windows, which I would like to do on the rear w...

That already is gone, a sheet metal plate is riveted/caulked into place with some roof vents.

Lightening a BC Legacy
As some of you know, I have a 94 Legacy Sport that I got fully built into a rally car. It is a beast, but I will be down on power as I will not be running a turbo, so the best way to get acceleration (and improve everything else) is to drop weight. I've already gone through most of the essentials: -...

Actually.... I think this thing came off an 02-03 WRX? What does the steering wheel you are looking for look like? I bought this car already rally prepared, so not sure what the original wheel looked like.

Re: WTB: Steering Wheel
I have a steering wheel core, and I think the cruise control stalk laying around somewhere. I'll take a look when I get home today to see the condition. It was used on my rally car before I got a sparco one to replace it.

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Thanks for moving it! The ultimate end goal of this car is a competitive Open Light car. Swapping in a hopped up 2.5L engine with engine management, great suspension, and reduce as much weight as possible. After Perryville the car will be painted white to prepare it for the Colin McRae tribute paint...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Spent another very very long weekend putting things together. Ron rewired a lot of dash, including a push button start. Only need a key now to get into the car, flip the accessory power switch, flip the ignition power switch, press the red button where the cigarette lighter went, and vroom, the car ...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
So I moved the car up to Rolla temporarily to live in Ron and RyanR's garage. Ron and I stripped the car bare, removed the remaining sound deadening, he went ahead and started rewiring most of the car and lightening the heater system by removing the condenser and covering up the vent holes. I also f...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
The rallycross was simply awesome. The car once again, is a total and utter tank. Drove it 3.5 hours to the rallycross venue. Flogged the car hard all day, WOT in 2nd gear for extended periods of time, banging off the revlimiter in 1st gear through some sections, all while in extreme heat. The car i...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
New sparco wheel is in! This wheel is amazing, and even better when combined with the G-Force gloves from Safe Drives! I will be flogging the car hard again at a rather large rallycross venue tomorrow (St. Joe's Off-Road Park) along with letting friends drive the car again. Should be a blast. :D htt...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Well, I got some great news the other day. Boeing in St. Louis has offered me a job as a Structural design engineer that I'll be taking. So I will be leaving Jonesboro soon, and moving back to St. Louis. This should help make things progress MUCH faster on the rally car as there are some reputable s...

Re: MConte05 - 1994 Legacy SS Open Light Rally Car
Got to shakedown the car really well at a local rallycross last weekend. I also whored it out a friend of mine and his dad. Ended up with 19 runs in some extremely hot weather (heat index over 110), being redlined most of the way in 1st gear.... and it loved it. The car is very easy to drive and to ...

So... Couldn't figure out how to post in the Members Journals, so hopefully a moderator will move it over there for me after this is posted. Re: How do I get to my spedometer cable?
Thats pretty close to what I have, except mine has a "tube" coming out of the adapter, about 5-6" long and then ends in the clip that goes into the trans.
Also can't seem to locate that PN on SubaruGenuineParts.com? Weird.
