Heh heh. DOA, most of my experience is in H20 VW, too. I have a set of forged 8 Valve pistons for a 1.8: 83mm bore, for 1.8 rods with 86.4mm stroke. Now, I picked up a 2.0 liter crank (92.8mm stroke) so those pistons won't work unless I use shorter rods (not usually a good solution). There are 2.0 l...

VW Engines (air cooled ones) generally use different pistons for stock storke or longer stroke. The piston pin (wrist pin) height is different. Basically, if you have a piston for a crankshaft that has a stock stroke of 80mm, and you put a crankshaft in that has a stroke of 90mm, the piston will go ...

Sweet! I crawl with an old Toyota (dual t-cases, blah blah blah). Nice work. How have the competitions gone for you?

I do have a line on a 2.2/2.5 supercharger setup but it is preproduction. Should be a few more months and be ready to hit the market.

Wow. Heated discussion. How many here have actually used water injection? Alcohol injection? In my opinion, water and alcohol injection are different - water injection *can* help take some heat from the inlet charge, however, it's main purpose, in my experience, has been to reduce the tendency of kn...

I have to agree - would be more work than it's worth, but being a virtual exercise...

You could mount a one-barrel side draft carb in place of the throttle body. Or, you could adapt some air-cooled VW/Porsche intakes to work (basically a carb over each head).

I don't suppose anyone has intake manifold gaskets from both engines they could compare?

I am a newbie - not familiar with the secondary throttles on the WRX manifold. Is it a resonance tuning chamber thing or for smoother response like in the Suzuki GSXRs, etc.

Thanks.
