If this motor is going in your vanagon i think you are going way too deep into this for your own good and mental sanity. The motor doesn't care how fast you are going just if you are moving or not.

i am very sure for the vanagon conversion the engine ecu just needs to know if you are moving or not moving to work right. for the obd1 systems.

when I put my svx engine in my vanagon I had to put a vss in. here is an example of one.

Yes, is was the O2 sensor. swapped out, ARF's safe and back on boost!

mine is a MT and if I don't have the clutch in all the way it makes that similar sounds. I just try the clutch again down farther and no buzz and car starts

I had a similar problem with the AFR's and hard start up. it ended up being a loose ground wire that was connected next to the fuel rail on the driver's side of the motor. I tightened that up and all good.

This is how I did it. Here is the video of the very first drive with the turbo swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It started up on the first try, broke in the cams for 20 min on high idle and took it for a drive

intake, BOV and PVC hoses

This took f...o....r...e....v...e...r... to run all of the hoses around the turbo and not kink. but all is well and each hose has it's place.

drilled grommet holes in the fire wall for all of the extra wires needed to run this beast. I ended up with like six holes.
