Re: Double DIN stereo install question
Had my stereo installed yesterday, all went well. No issues with mounting the HU in the dash. The tweeters ended up on the A pillars as the installer was not comfortable with the install in my requested location on the dash. The amp is mounted to the back of the driver side rear seat, I'm hoping it ...

99' power mirrors on a 94'?
The title pretty much says it all - will power mirrors from a 99' Lego/Outback fit on my 94' wagon? I would like to have heated mirrors on my car and think I can easily find a set off of the 95-99' cars.

Replaced my dead knock sensor - no more CEL and it seems to run better too.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a nice set that I can pickup for cheap. I will post the results here when I find something.

Seat interchangeability?
I have found quite a few late 90's and early 2000's Legacy's and Outback's in the local self service wrecking yards in my area. I'm curious if seats from any of the later cars are interchangeable with our cars? I'm more interested in the front seats, but it would be nice to have a matching rear seat...

Re: Double DIN stereo install question
Thanks for the info! I have another question as I'm having the stereo installed by an "installer" off of Craigslist. The guy seems pretty knowledgeable and has good references but I don't want to run into any problems as he will be doing this where I work, in the parking lot. Should I expe...

Double DIN stereo install question
I'm getting ready to have an Alpine double DIN stereo I have laying around installed in my 94' wagon. Is there any mounting kits for these (I'm not finding one in my web searches) or any hints/tricks to fit a double DIN HU into our cars. The car currently has an aftermarket single DIN unit installed.

Re: Need new struts
I load mine heavy every day (500-700lbs) daily. The springs should be fine they normally don't give up much over the years. One thing that might be the reason for the saggy butt is they may have put 90-91 struts on the rear. I've changed all my cars to 92-94 struts, the spring perches are higher up...

Re: Need new struts
Thanks for the feedback. End links - are you referring to the links for the sway bar or is there something else I should be looking for? Any thoughts on the B&G springs (or any other replacment springs)? I'm assuming the stock springs are shot, the PO used this car as his work truck. I was told ...

Need new struts
Before winter is upon me, I need to purchase and install new struts on my 94' awd wagon. This car was originally equipped with air suspension, sometime before I purchased it everything was converted to standard struts. Will I be able to purchase new struts and mounts that are designed for a standard...

Re: Car runs too hot
The gauge temp sensor is probably fine. The ECU coolant temp sensor is the more critical one and what triggers the fan to turn on. The ECU is pretty dumb and may not trigger a code even if the sensor is bad. I replaced the ECU temp sensor, still no passenger side fan. I picked up a junkyard fan, I ...

Re: Car runs too hot
Yes, I used a factory t-stat. The one I pulled was aftermarket, I was really hoping I had found my problem. Lots of Subie's at the local pull and play places around Denver. I could easily grab parts. From the consistency of my heating up problem, I think the gauge functions correctly. If it or the s...

Re: Car runs too hot
I finally had a chance to work on my car - I replaced the thermostat and temp sensor, flushed and replaced the coolant. Car still runs hot pulling grades. Still runs hot idling in traffic but I believe this to be the fault of the inop passenger side cooling fan as when I turn the AC on and slide the...

Re: Noob suspension question
I think I have a broken motor mount too. Just noticed when I shut the car off there is a thud coming from the engine bay. Same on e when I accelerate or go over bumps.

Re: Noob suspension question
Changed the oil today and checked out the front end - everything looks and feel like it is in decent shape. No obviously worn bushings or free play in anything that I can tell. One of the struts looks like it is leaking. I will plan on at least doing the struts. I will check out the back when I chan...

Noob suspension question
I have a noob suspension question; The suspension is shot on my 94' AWD wagon, 225k miles. The ass end of the car feels like mush and makes a bunch of clunking noises over bumps, rough roads, etc. The front is not much better. The cars drives good, goes down the road straight and does not wander so ...

Re: Car runs too hot
I ordered a temp switch and t-stat today. Will install them when they arrive.
Regarding the fans, any interchangeability between later years? I was at the local self serve junk yard today, they have a bunch of 95+ Subies, I'm sure I could find a good used fan for cheap.

Where can I find EDM headlights
I need a new set of headlights for my 94' wagon. Mine are in rough condition and I commute with this car before daylight. Almost whacked a deer this morning because I did not see him in time
Anyway, does anybody have a good source for the EDM glass headlights?

Re: Car runs too hot
Hey guys, thanks for the great feedback! It is much appreciated. Legaccy777 - the driver side fan comes on only with the AC. Passenger side does not turn on at all. Does this still point to the coolant temp senor? I will replace the temp sensor and the t-stat, sounds like a good thing to do on a 225...

Car runs too hot
New guy here. A little history of my car before I ask my questions; I purchased a 94' AWD MT wagon last fall to use as my winter commuter. The car had a little over 200k miles on it at purchase, I put another 25k on it through the winter months - with no problems, the only thing I have done is chang...
