Re: Olympus 2011 so far.
Yes very very sad. The rest of the day was cancelled and gave us time to realize how dangerous this sport is.

Olympus 2011 so far. (We finished!) *Long, grab a beer*
It's time to race this thing. Check out biggreens rally build if you don't know the backstory. I'm here at the Olympus rally, came into rally town (ocean shores) late thursday after the 400 mile from the absolute other side of Washington, Pullman. My friend Charlie is codriving the rally and he pull...

Re: help with transmission and flywheel mismatch
Yeah I have 4.11 gears in the car now and while rad and fast, it is overkill now that I have a dedicated fun car. If I never drove on the interstate and only did city and mountain driving these gears would be perfect. But I make 300 mile road trips often and the mileage is poor. I would only conside...

Thread from the dead!
What I have learned from speeding besides be super nice to cops and make their job easy:
Build a rally car and enter a race, then you get 100-150 miles of closed stages to haul ass on.

Re: help with transmission and flywheel mismatch
Oooo 4.44 gears!
Your car is going to accelerate. Much. Faster.
You are also going to be turning 3500rpm at 60mph. If you care about mileage you might want to trade this trans for a 3.9... Otherwise find a 4.44 rear diff and enjoy your new rocketship legacy.

Re: 5mt out 6mt in
Some do some don't. My 04 didn't. You don't have to split the case, but you do need to install new stub specific seals which involves undoing the rings on the side of the case. It was a 1 hour job with the trans on the workbench.

Re: Classic "How are my AFR's", log plots included
Lee, the AFR's looks pretty good to me. They seem to stay very stable and get right back to being where you set them really quick after a shift. They are a tad lower than what the stock ecu is letting happen in my car at those boost levels. (Waste gate boost on a vf39, I'm trying to save $$, lol!) I...

Re: Classic "How are my AFR's", log plots included
Pretty graphs Lee, but tables of numbers are much much easier to deal with. Not that I have ANY idea of what is going on or looks good, but something like this is much easier to read: SEC RPM LOAD DAM ADV IGN COR KNC PSI WDTY AFR MAFV 0.00 2039 0.36 1 45 0 0 0 -8.12 0 19.32 1.98 0.34 2120 0.67 1 44 ...

Re: Teaser pic of the rally car.(Biggreen's rally build)
Look at it this way: Entry for Rally Idaho is $800. His subframe is about that much. You can swing wide and kiss a dirt bank or curb, maybe bounce through a ditch without bending or breaking his stuff. But on stock stuff, it's rally over. Or lead lost due to wacked alignment. So either way you are o...

Re: Teaser pic of the rally car.(Biggreen's rally build)
Ah yes I have been following this guy on the rally forums. He is the real deal. His prices are pretty real too. If I start somehow making 100k per year and competing for the national title I think I would upgrade to his stuff. For now my stock subframes are ok. I might just paint one bright green fo...

Re: Teaser pic of the rally car.(Biggreen's rally build)
I was at PGP feb 13th. It was a "lap attack". All the grip racers were out going for fast times. I was all about the sliding as you can tell lol. Cost was about 100, I'm for sure going to try and get out there again someday it was fun as hell. I'll let you know if I head out there again. A...

Ok so I got the mudflaps on and drove it around today. It's much more civilized with a magnaflow on it now. It's mostly straight through as you can see, so power isn't hurt much I suppose. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_9vKXh4RAVWo/TWlUJeUVf6I/AAAAAAAACFM/AjoPPxWRjtQ/s800/photo%203.JPG And then ...

I work downtown at Hodgins Drug near friendship square, so I'm over there almost everyday. I'll be driving it around occasionally once I get the 3 other mudlfaps on and SNOW TIRES. Wow we got hammed last night eh?

You ought to come to Idaho. 150 stages miles is certainly worth the trek up to Boise. The two stages I worked on were so fun to drive I can't wait for this years running.

Re: Teaser pic of the rally car.(Biggreen's rally build)
I decided instead of buying a bigass aftermarket tach I'd try to make stock stuff work. So I got out my tools of destruction and went to town. I had the svx cluster so I took it apart and harvested the tach. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_9vKXh4RAVWo/TUYWpM0hT7I/AAAAAAAACAA/AcRRkEm19Bc/s800/phot...

Re: Shifting Help, Car wont shift into gear.
Its not going to help what is happening in regards to your not going into gear problem. It's expensive. The only fix for worn synchros is new synchros. Heavy oil will help slightly, but that too is just a quick fix. (the one that I choose to use)
