Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
That looks really good, however... I would be concerned about using the radiator lower support and the crash bar. Its likely much stronger than the stock piece, but I've seen too many of them take out the radiator after bottoming the front or an aggressive water crossing. Additional skid plate supp...

ESL Board for USDM 1st Gen Turbo Legacies
I have had the ESL in my car since 2012 although I swapped wiring to a 95 wrx harness. It seems to work well enough. The factory MAP sensor for the early cars can ionly read boost to 16psi. The later cars are around mid 20's I believe. I have my car completely apart and Haines out of the car agin an...

Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
Tilton pedal assembly showed up today. Time to create a new mount and see if I can improve braking. I also purchased a front mount intercooler but have yet to see it. Time to get ready for 2016!

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
I am employed again! That means back to work on the car finally even though I won't get to use it much this coming year I hope to make 2 hill climbs in 2016 and I would be thrilled. Finally received this bent up tube and now I am trying to decide how to use it, either as the radiator support or moun...

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
You could attach a piece of round tube between the frame rails to act as a skid plate mount. It'd probably be better to have it bolt in with all the abuse it'll take. That's the plan. The guys who built my cage are bending me up some metal and I should have it today. Still debating between welding ...

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
What do I do with the rest of it? Would it be wise or ill-advised to cut out the crumpled sheet metal below the headlights? Can that space be used for anything useful like oil or power steering cooler? I need to add a tow hook while I am in there somewhere. What's everyone doing with the wiring that...

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
Been a while since I have even touched the car. My bosses are getting a divorce thus my job is up in the air right now so my plans of rally Idaho are sidelined again this year. I figure I can at least do some no-cost upgrades to the car in the mean time. I started tearing out the radiator support I ...

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
OEM is more than up to the cooling job, and should last the life of your car at this point. Even on my race car? That's what I need it for. I am skeptical of the stock keeping up, that thick Koyo with strong fans had a hard time keeping up at the Colorado hill climbs once the air got thin. Old post...

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
I've been looking for almost 2 hours now and can't find the Koyo A1819 or C1819 anywhere, nor a modine or fluidyne equivalent. :( Anyone had any experience with a Spectra? Also I have seen conflicting reports that the stock radiator was 2 row while these replacements are 1 row. Maybe time to throw i...

You had me convinced on a stock radiator Josh but SoA only has one left (maybe) and its $310. It's still a possibility though. Ordered new radiator supports so I can get everything square and will go from there

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
It was a bit of a space issue. I may or may not have hit the front of the car on a ditch and used a tow strap to pull it back out when I was younger to hide it from my parents.... I may use this winter to cut out the radiator support and replace it/build a better skid plate support. Also, when I did...

Here is the best I could do in the dark. The fans are offset closer to their respective inlet and outlet. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/17/d66121900523d2baedd002d88ef1d964.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/17/a178ff58033d8615331c7756349ad553.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/...

And this is on stock 22t heads? You haven't got the bug to swap to dohc heads yet? Didn't that free up 30-40hp on a stock 22t for MMonson?

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
Still looking for a radiator option. Anyone recently bought the Mishimoto? Its definitely the fans, maybe moreover the lack of ducting around them, that isn't helping my cooling issues. I ran the car tonight just to make sure the cooling system was bled. Was playing around with the infrared temp gun...

Any one know if the slanty splitter from an early ver1-2 GC would bolt up? I have one on my car but I have a larger Intercooler so I am only feeding air to half of it.

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
unfortunately I can't take the laptop with me so I don't have numbers but when I drive that car around hard, the fans kick on and turn off within about 30 seconds. At Hill climbs I fill the overflow bottle and the fans will stay on for over 5 minutes straight. I am running 2-12" Spal fans. I wa...

I haven't got much more accomplished. The 34mm restrictor arrived about 2 weeks ago so I am looking for another compressor housing to machine out to accomadate the restrictor. Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
Yeah Josh you make a logical point. But every time this car has been "down" it's completely different when everything is together again. So why change that now, right? I got a line on some low mileage 06 legacy gt calipers that was too good to pass up and since I have to replace the rotors...

Re: Tyler's Legacy SS.... under an impreza shell
The only thing I can think of was I cut the master cylinder push rod down on the first master I tried, but not the new piece. So I am going to trim it and see if it was a clearance issue. The sliders and the pistons moved freely even though they were torched after I pulled them so I don't believe it...
