Since you have the coil removed already, think about running a ground wire from under it to your central ground point (if you have one).

I should mention that you have to make sure and use a coil that is from a vehicle without the integrated ignitor.

MSD Coil pack 8229 came in today. The bolt holes are different, either top 2 or bottom 2 can both go in at one time, but not both. It is more of a rectangular shape. Not an issue for me, i'll find a work around :D

I'll be stopping by the local mitsu dealer sometime next week to find out about the connector, and will try a few salvage yards.

Contacted Magnecor about making custom wires

Mk750: Why did you get the coil pack? I dont think the coil is the week point, the ignitor is. (even if you dont have the diamond pack)

morgie: Attach the ground between the copper portion of the sleeve of the coil pack mounts and the raised/threaded portion of the throttle body.

Are you going to run the MSD coil with the stock ignitor? Dont you worry about the resistance values being so far off? I think you should get an extra ignitor and keep your old one just in case it ruins it.

Actually, with college/work/no license I don't have the time or patience to work everything out.

So you do get your way after all, ciper  j/k

Both types of packs are made by Hitachi, I believe. The Diamond ones say "Diamond" on them. Yours is the plain ol' Hitachi coil pack.

They're just wound in a way that makes for a higher voltage spark, I think.
