Death by water

There was a discussion about this a while back. I've never heard of anyone actually dying like this.

yup. dangerous shit. That's why doctors were warning fitness buffs when the bottled water craze hit the states. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. :D

I have a problem, I'm addicted to Dasani. I'm afraid I'm going to die if I don't receive help soon. Is there any clinics or support groups that can help a person like me?

I don't wanna die....

I've heard of this happening before. Besides causing the brain-water-logging, you could also suffocate from the excess water being expelled through the lung capillaries, preventing the intake of oxygen.

Quite horrific if you think about it.

Britney Chambers of Colorado died a couple years back from drinking too much water after taking ectasy. I went to school with a few people that "claimed" to have been friends with her.

I second those thoughts beer is definitely better. It has a built in safety feature that most people heed...drunkeness. Then again it just comes down to passing out.

That is scary. What gives life can also take it away.

It is recommended that you're supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day right? Roughly 64 oz? That's the most I've ever drank in one day.

Has anyone seen Lewis Black's routine on bottled water?

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Yeah, no doubt. I have to choke it down to drink that much.

Yes, I actually saw him live at URI with the g/f last year. That guy is intense live. He gets so damn worked up it lookes like hes going to have a friggin stroke on stage, or perhaps an anurism.

i think that's been discredited. (thankfully). We derive a lot of water from the sugars we process and don't need THAT much. Someone here with more knowledge of metabolic pathways and such would know more.
