- Poor transmission shift: Erratic shifting of the automatic transmission accompanied by a check-engine light is often due to a corroded battery ground connection at the engine. (1990-94)

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
exactly how would I go about checking that.(where are the grounds and which do i check and how do i know if its bad AND how do i fix it?)
Im a nOOb and a nOOb to Subies and alot of cars in general. Any info would help. (i know it's a retarded question but i dont want to mess this car up, I just bought it :D)

the ground connection to the battery?? i think thats wat that means.... so wouldnt that be the black (negative) wire that connects to the battery? or am i confused? :? it is pretty late rite now and i am tired...
