Hey everyone i need your expertice.
i might be able to get some 2000 2.5 heads and manifold, i was wondering if i could keep my turbo cams from my 2.2 and use them in the new heads. Are the sohc heads and manifold from the 2.5 better than my 2.2?
Would I be able to use my injectors from the turbo or would i have to use the n/a ones?
If I couldn't change the cams, would the overlap when the exhaust is still open be bad for power, and would the new heads lower my compresion ratio?
I know its a lot of questions but any feed back would be apreciated
Thank you
Sam
P.S. Dont try to use a US sti clutch assembly in a 5mt, even though it looks like it would fit, and the bell housing will bolt to the block all nice and neat looking. It wont work, the pressure plate hits the casting of the case. I found this out the hard way.

The 2.5 heads are superior in every sense of the word. Your 2.2 cams will not fit those heads. You must use the EJ25 manifold, and it flows much much better. will post the port sizes manana after I look at my notes at home, but they are so much larger it isn't even close (like 1/4 inch)
There are plenty of guys running high powered engines on the stock RS cams. The overlap is not too much. And yes the heads will lower compression to around 7.3:1. People always react to this, but having ridden in and driven a number of these cars it is a total non-issue. Porsche has used CR's in the mid 6's for years on their turbo cars and as low as 8:1 on NA cars...
As for injectors, you will need to go aftermarket. There are a couple of options for the MY00 RS manifold, but you can use WRX or STi ones if you can find a '99 RS manifold...

There's some info regarding the 2.5 heads and swapping them on the turbo motors in the bc-bf archive. You may want to search in there.

It would if he bought the one off of my Ej20G...dzx wrote:Would the intake manifold clear the stock turbo's 90 degree inlet?
