facial hair growth

Post by JasonGrahn »

So one of the funny things about beardedness.. The itchy phase.

usually it comes on at about day 3 of not shaving, that's come and gone. Now I'm at day 8 or 9 and it's back. I wonder when it's gunna go away again.

gahhhhh, I HATE the itchy phase :x

That's why I never let mine get any longer than some stubble. Eventually I wanna go all out and have a lumberjack beard though, haha.

You know you're still supposed to wash your face and beard, right?

:) Just kidding.

I think the first itchy phase is when the hair coming back in through irritates the skin, and the second phase is when the hair gets long enough that the tips start to bend back and irritate the skin again.

yup, i hate it too, i usually shave every few days so i offend the prepy with my non shaven look, but i cant stand the itchy second stage either...i allways end up shaving it off when it gets to that point...

LOL, sorry. The last I can remember about the itchy phase is it lasted for maybe a week tops after the 'initial' itchy phase. But Vikash is right, you gotta wash it and if you want the ladies to really appreciate it - break out the shampoo. Personally though I haven't touched a razor in well over a year so I can't relate much, though I used to love a good close shave. I say hang with it bro - let the beard grow.

too many dirty hippies in bellingham to just let it go wild. Gotta use shampoo, and on the good nights, a little conditioner to make it soft. ;)

Grow out a two strand braid like those kung fu masters in the movies. That would be sweet. ME on the other hand, I just saw a picture of Keanu Reeves with a beard and, dammit, I look like the bastard with facial hair, too.

I had a friend who dated a 'girl' with a beard ... You don't really want one, Laurel - trust me.

That beast later called me after they broke up with the excuse that I called her. My mother (who had met the miserable person) answered the phone and told her there was no way I had called her. My mom rules!

I want to get that laser hair removal for my face. I don't want the shit to ever grow back. My name isn't Davey Crocket!

I saw a company selling laser hair removers (same used to remove tats) on ebay for $750.00 +

I would love to own one.

I've had a beard since about the 8th grade. I just, one day, decided to stop shaving. It's to much work to shave, plus, I look totally bitchin with a beard.

It grows just right too, so I don't even have to shave parts of it. I just trim it once a month or so, and then let it grow. I get annoyed at my mom asking me when I am going to trim it to let it grow out to long.

I'm actually trying a bit of a goatee. I tried before when I was like 16, but first it took me like 3 months to grow anything noticeable  and second my family gave me shit for it.

I already have more now after letting it grow out a week than what I had after 3 months when I was 16. I didn't shave my whole face for a week, then I decided I'd shave everything except a little goatee on my chin. I'll see how it does in a few more weeks and decide if I like it.

The only itchiness I get is when the stubble drags on your neck when you're looking down at something

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who shampoos his face around here :D The Wife(tm) actually likes my full beard way more than when I had a dirty little goatee and I've had a beard so long that when I shave it off every couple years for shock value she doesn't like it :) hahaha :o

I actually find that when I shave the sides off and let them grow back that I only get the beard itch for about 20 minutes the next day. that's it. maybe I'm using the right shampoo technique or something :D
