antennae lead location?...

Post by farfrumwork »

..under the dash that is

Went in to install my new Alpine HU (and remove the old alpine HU and FM modulator from the old cd changer) only to find no antennae lead under the dash!!

I had no AM, and only a few FM stations before - and now I know why

My question is: what is the antennae routing? does it come from the driver side/passenger side? Up high or down low near the floor?

I spent forever looking around for it and only found a headache from being upside-down for sooo long
BTW, there is an antennae and a lead that goes off from the driver side of the trunk.

thanks,
Chad

The black wire came in from the drivers side for me. It was tucked under behind the plastic of the center console that went into the radioish area. *Doesn't make much sense*

Mine came in from the driver's side too and when I installed my CD player I found that the antennea lead was a little short to easily hook up, as in you have to wedge your fingers in there and try to hit the spot on the back of the radio without being able to see it. I still don't have good radio reception....

ok, so I found it!! yeah

it comes into the dash area from the drivers kick panel. Mine was stuffed up toward the firewall - so I couldn't find it anywhere near the audio leads.

yippie - AM is back!! (we have the best college comercial free station here - 1190am - check it out online - radio1190.org I believe)
