I think it's funny that we all say Subaru's are easy to work on. They are easy, because we know them well. Ask most mechanics, and they will commonly agree that the cars are more difficult to work on than most other makes. Bitching about the spark plugs being hard to do or something.
i thought mine was just not working.
my subie mech said he would rather work on a subaru over everything else. they are way easy.
axle can be changed in 15 minutes.
clutch is easy
i thought the plugs were plenty easy. except on a SVX.
fuel filter is in engine bay so you dont have to crawl under the car.
struts are pretty easy if they arent rusted.

There's no reason I can think of that the old hill holder system can't work with an hydraulic clutch except for the push vs. pull thing.
