thats what i got on this tankfull. a whopping 185 miles on 11.025 gallons of fuel in my 94SS.

ugh.

that was w/minimal on boost driving and idling along at 40 in 5th gear at 1700RPM when ever possible . it was all city.

i need to replace my purge canister control solenoid as i have a CEL code for that.

the car has a O2 sensor of an unknown vintage so maybe i should replace that too? even though there is no code for it.

i should see how crappy i can get the MPG down too w/out breaking the speed limit too much. i'm guessing around 8-9MPG w/ou driving like too much of a throttle monkey.

That's a good tank for me

Remember though, WRX wheels and tires are taller, so you are actually traveling a further distance at a faster pace than the odometer/tripometer reads. I am way way way to lazy to try to calculate down the difference, but just something to keep in mind.

Highest MPG to date post modding = 18.2

right now i am on the stocker 15" w/nokian hakka 1s in 186/65/15.

and on the summer gold 98 RS wheels i have kuhmo 712s in 205/55/16, not my ideal size choice but that is what the car came with so...

what is the stock size for the stock tires again, just ran outside once dont want to again to check the door plate.

plus my car is bone stock.

I usually average about 15-16 mpg with spirited driving. You really have to drive super conservative to obatin anything higher in my '94 SS.

Jesus, if I were smart (which I'm not), I'd forget this project and keep my car FWD, rebuild the engine to 11:1 and get a set of winter wheels. 30 mpg+ and it would still be fun.

My turbo car gets pretty good gas mileage in the city it gets around 20mpg and 25 in the highway.. on boost some most times.

I found that tire pressure and roof racks make a huge difference. I went from about 18-21mpg with 30/29psi and my thule ski racks and fairing to 23-25 with no rack and 34/33psi. I don't have a turbo, though. I couldn't believe it when I filled up on the way to Sacramento. After driving 90mph with four people and our stuff I calculated 24.9 MPG on WRX tires (so in reality it was slightly more than that).

I hope the Foresters are the same deal as the WRX, but my speedometer reads higher when I pass those radar speed signs. I run 40 psi all around. That's right, 40, and I get 21 mpg tops. WInter gas is supposedly worse, but I was doing mear 30 before the last engine went. At least I don't have to travel far to work anymore.

I run 32/31 and get around 30-32. I can also see where a roof rack would make a noticable difference. Not to hijack but - why such high pressures Steve?

Better mileage (about 1 mpg seemingly), but it also handles better balance wise. I don't care about what other people use or recommendations by the mfg, I've tried everything from 28 psi up with various tires and have found I like everything better between 36-40 psi. I usually keep front to rear the same or within a few psi. The only tiime I had a problem was in the summer in the desert. Car started riding really badly so I pulled over and the pressure pegged the cheap gauge I had (over 50 psi) so I let some out and went on my way.

I used to get about 250 miles to the tank on 91. Ever since I added my IC and pully, I get about 300-320 mpg. To me, that is a great increase. I'd suggest going this route for those who have a relatively stock car.

Between the vacumn/boost leak, and track day at PIR, I managed about 400 miles on 30 gallons of fuel. ouch.

I hear you on that. My IC had a huge leak in it too. It's amazing the difference on performance when it's fixed.

Most cars with turbos aren't known to get excellent gas mileage, they will always get worse then their natuarally aspirated counterparts. Turbo Diesels are one exception to this rule that I can think of...
