Aren't tool magazines wonderful
I was looking at a Harbor Freight tool magazine today and I was impressed with the sheer variety of tools in this magazine. Ball joint replacement kits, $2k hydraulic lifts, $100 pipe bending machines, tire replacement tools, $20 car covers etc. It makes me want to buy some tools.

Some of the tools look chauncy but there's some that don't seem too bad like the pipe bending tool. All it is is a hydraulic press and some framework. I'll be careful though anyway. They have an outlet in Scranton, PA so maybe I'll have better luck being able to inspect the tools.

It's more of a catalog than a magazine....
Some of the tools are indeed ok, but you do get what you pay for, so don't be surprised when they break or cease functioning.

HF's pipe bender should be better known as the pipe kinker. its a POS, the dies have terrible tolerances.
I have HF's 2.5 ton floor jack, and its decent. definitely not the best Ive used(the pressure release is kinda sticky) but for the $ its ok. I'll buy stuff like contractor knives, clamps, and other small tools there, but stay away from their power tools. a friend bought one of their angle grinders and burned it up in a month.

I bought an air-cutter from Harbor Freight, and it's been working pretty well. For $10 bucks, I couldn't go wrong. Cuts the shit out of everything.

Catalog then, I mis-stated. At work it was the only thing around to read so I was reading it more like a magazine, to keep me entertained.DLC wrote:It's more of a catalog than a magazine....
