Has anyone ever imported a car?

This is for non-Subaru related topics. Keep it realistic please.

Most of the EVOIV's you see around are Mirage swaps.

Except for a few. There's a REAL EVO IV Tommi Makinen edition in Virginia.

I don't want no stinkin EVO.....

They just scream RICER!! Roo's are sleepers. Even the STi's aren't ricers because most sports car lovers fear them. If you pull up next to a STi be prepared to have your ass handed to you.

I think I will just get the front half (not clip) of a JDM 20TT.

I wonder if I could get it welded to my legacy????

The EVOIV is hot, I don't know what your talkin about.

I wouldn't weld together a unibody car. That'd be stupid, and unreliable. Flexy too, lol.

no way, just swap the parts.
I bet it wouldnt be too difficult to just run the header/uppipe/turbo/downpipe and all the intake stuff for a ej20t to get rid of the tt setup. if it requires so many mods to fit the tt setup on a LHD car, just seems like a good reason to go single turbo.

The whole point of importing a legacy half is to go TT. If I wanted a singe turbo I would just buy a Turbo legacy here in the states. I want to go crazy....get nuts!!

It would be like getting a Viper with a V6....no thanks.

20TT tons of boost....can you feel it!!

Big Singles make more power than twins.

The highest HP Supra's make all their power from a single turbo, not two of them.

Two turbos helps powerband, but not so much peak.

It wouldn't be like that at all. Since they never sold a viper with a v6. It'd be like getting a 4 cyl mustang.

The EJ20H and EJ20R don't make all that much boost. and they most certainly do have a big deadspot in the middle of the rpm range where the seconday turbo starts to spool. The twin turbo setup isn't made for mad power and whatever. It's made for driveability. The twin turbo setup gives tons of torque down low and makes higher rpms still liveable. Get trapped in the valley of death though and you wont like it. That said if you're doing the conversion definately get a front clip or half cut. You're going to need the ECU to control the turbo setup.

Aren't the turbos on the EJ20tt the same size?

I thought the VOD was only an issue on sequential turbos of differing sizes.

I guess I'm just a little confused as to how the plumbing for two turbos would work. I see that there are two uppipes, does the intake air go from one turbo to the other then to the ic and intake (and they're different sized), or does each turbo feed directly to the IC?

A 4cyl stang.....LOL!! That reminds me of something funny.

I am a member of www.freecycle.org and the other day this kid posts a wanted ad for a hard drive. I being an upstanding citizen decide to offer him one. I give him my number and he calls me to talk about OS options. We get to talking and he tells me he wants to get a laptop in the future so he can tune his mustang. I am thinking he has some sick fire breathing stang......HA HA HA!! He tells me he has an 89 4 banger....It was all I could do to not laugh my head off!! What a dork!!

It wasn't an SVO mustang either....a 4cyl with a turbo is gooooood.

I started telling him about my mustang and he got all nervous and said he had to go. I wonder if he felt embarassed??

I believe all the twin turbo setups have different sized turbos.

There was a real good diagram that I can't find now. It showed the intake and exhaust flow with the primary turbo, with the secondary turbo starting to spool, and with both turbos going. Each turbo feeds seperately to the IC.

I thought the twin turbos had the same size turbos but with different compressor wheels so they spool up at different RPMs.

I noticed the IC's use dual inputs and a single out.

Here's the RHD body you need on ebay and it's in FLA!

I spotted a JDM front clip the other day, I'll go back and look that too.
I would love to see you do this.
Here's the front clip, the auction ended but nobody bought it.

Not only is it in my state...it's in my town. They have it in the newspaper for $4000.00

I know it says the reserve is meet but they said they wouldn't take less than $3,500.00 on it.
