Remember when...

Post by tris91ricer »

...I had that huge long thread of "Tristan sucks, his life is terrible, and nothing will ever go right"?
Ha! Just like y'all said.. things are turning around, finally, and I couldn't be happier!
I've finally got the car back on the road, (given it name, even!) I'm looking into some first 'real' mods for it, too. (Headers/Custom Exhaust?)

In addition to that, I'm finally over my first real heartbreak. I think I'm ready to cover the ol' tattoo and get it on with other girls. Yay!Plus, life is looking a little better.. I'm seeing someone about my problems, (which are getting worked on, and for ONCE, someone (a professional, no less!) agrees that it's my MOTHER that fucked me up.) and I've even quit smoking so much weed. I've been working hard, and also trying to make arrangements to pay off the nice collector men and various cities that I (supposedly) owe money to for *cough* traffic bullshit *cough**cough*.

But that's not the best part, though! Last Friday, I was out partying with my cousin, and we're kickin' it at his friend's house, having a bbq. --If you live in WA, you know it's been bbq weather lately! Anyhow, one of my cousin's friends hands me his cell phone and says 'it's for you'. I'm like, what? really? Okay.. So I pick it up, and it's the guy I bought my '92 from! (He's a friend of my cousin's, also in our 'crew', from time to time.) He comments about this and that, and how he's happy I finally got his car running again, and he starts asking about how reliable it is. It's fine, I tell him, and he proceeds to OFFER ME A JOB! Yay! He and my cousin work for a small shipping contractor called Sonic Services (Sonic Transport?) which is out in Kent. As he explained it, his early morning guy (2am to 6am) just gave notice, and there was a spot open. So I tell him I'd take it.
I just heard back from him this morning, and Voila!~ I start Monday. :D
I've really been wanting to tell someone, and I picked you guys, cause.. well, it seems like you all would not only be interested, but might even care just a tiny bit. (Things aren't all gravy, I'm still surrounded by negative people..)
So I'm hoping this will all work out the way I want it to; I get to keep my cushy desk job which lets me sit here all day and be a postwhore on this board, and others. And then have my afternoons free to BS and probably catch a nap, then hit up my 2nd job around 2am. Get off there at 6am, and have 3 hours to kill before I have to be back to the cushy deskjob by 9am. Then start all over again...
I'm really really really really excited. Things are looking up for once, and I'm totally happy being unattached, wild and free!
Seriously, thanks guys for listening, I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Okay, that is all, but I just HAD to tell you about it!

dude, good for you man! VERY glad to hear that. *hug*

I know exactly how it feels when people tell you that things will look better, and you think to yourself, "yea, sure. Things can't get any better, what the hell do you know?" But then, when it finally happens, you realize that those people really weren't full of shit after all. It's a good feeling, I'm glad you could experience it.

Best of luck to you Tristan. Take it easy!

Congrats on the all the good news. If you're an honest man and willing to work hard things will eventually work out. Patience may be required but I've yet to be proven wrong. Sounds like a busy scheduel with your jobs but more power to you, and you'll get to be driving your car to and from work :). I know I'm lost without my car and how good it feels to get it back, I can only imagine... It's amazing how good the good Pro's can be at helping you get stuff figured out, good decision. I have several friends that see the docs. Best of luck with everything Tristan and again, glad to hear life is getting better.

Good to hear! Everything is cyclical, you just have to recognize when things are on the way up so you can ride the wave.

I'm glad to hear that someone's life is turning the corner. I've been feeling better at points but down at others. As far as women go, I don't seem to be having an easy time at all these days. I think I'm a pretty good looking guy so I'm not quite sure what's going on. This girl I was dating is showing interest again. We went out the other night and ate some food. I enjoyed our time together as did she but it's still a struggle to get her to open up and loosen up. I really dig her but sometimes I get sick of pursuing and not getting any lovin at all or any really positive responses from her except through other people. Whatever though, I'm not gonna wait around too long for her make up her mind. I'll try a couple more times and we'll see what happens.

Back to you:

Congratulations on your new job, your upcoming exploits and what not, have fun.

Dood, Tris. . . that's awesome! And I know you're thinking a couple things with this new job:

1. Something to keep me busy
2. More money to pay things off faster and be able to do things to the car

At least those are the things I'd be thinking of in your situation.

Whichever way things go, I'm very happy to see your obvious positive attitude and "looking on the bright side" mentality shining through. And I'm also glad to see you make the distinction about being around negative people making a difference. Perhaps the less you're around the negativity, you'll start seeing more beauty in the world. . . what am I saying? You've obviously already made a huge turning point in your life, so you don't need me to remind you of that.

Well, now. . . looks to me like we've not only got a reason to feast on Saturday night. . . but also something to celebrate, too! GOOD JOB!!!! :D

Hey! Things are looking up for the state as well -- We FINALLY got our rain! I figure, what's the point of awd if you live in a dry area? The rain needs to keep it up, though, I like my long showers cheap.

I'm pretty happy with the way things are going, but I can't help but think that when you finally get what you want, something else is always around the corner --good or bad. So I'm trying to make the better choices hoping that something else is good, and not more misfortune.
I've pretty much got the two jobs thing sorted out; I like my office job, very much. I love offices --the way they work, the things that go on, and the sexy professionalism. (not that there's a whole hell of a lot of that here, but..)
However, I also liked my first real[/] job: Dishwashing. Sure, it's menial work, and mostly physical,(mostly fuckin' off :D) but that's why I enjoy things like that.
When I work the physical jobs, my mind wanders, and I think of so much more interesting things --better than when I'm high! I'm hoping it'll strike the right balance that I want, so I can have my professional office setting, and later, go in and hang with the boys, get some lifting done by moving boxes around, and enjoy the rough-and-tumble warehouse nightlife. (Does that sound strange to any of you?)
But see, I couldn't have done it without the support of the folks here at LCO.
To all of you, *hug* *BIG HUG*.

Scott, I haven't been exactly scoring with the ladies, either, so don't fret too much, or feel like everyone's passing you by --we're not.
I've kinda gotten back into the spirit of my old self again, though; scared of the relationship, but loving the BS game beforehand: FLIRTING. I love to flirt. I'm probably not very good at it, but I still have a blast. You any good? (Not with me-- the girl!) I can't give too much advice on the ladies --never had much luck in picking 'em or keeping 'em, so.. yeah.

Here's to the dichotomy..

^^ Hey now, I never said anything about that..
Doods, good things ARE on the up-and-up further!
My new boss just called, and he knows that I'm pretty computer savvy, so he tells me the owner of the company was talking to him yesterday about updating the website.. he drops 'the new guy' name and lo and behold... they want me to redo their website! I'm pretty sure that means more money, and definitely another opportunity to shine. I'm fucked if he wants anything updated and exciting, like Flash, though. :( I don't know anything past HTML v.8, I s'pose..

You mentioned it in your initial post. Now the ads are for products to quit smoking.
Don't sweat Flash too much. It is pretty easy to learn if you spend a little time with it. The complicated stuff takes a while, obviously.

I do anyhow, I'm almost a boozehound.

I'm not really afraid of coding flash, as it's all done for you by the program, I'm afraid OF the program. That shit's pricey. Ugh.
The weather changed again, and I'm tired from last night.
Oh, roight.. lemme tell you aboutit...
So my friend Patty and I are at her mom's apartment, watching movies with her mom, and her awesome-super-coolest-all-mouth-pit-bull. (This dog's HUGE!) We go outside to walk the dog around 1am, and then her and I decide to head out. We get to her car and she's like, "I don't remember leaving my car unlocked..?" Uh-Oh. Well, as I look down, I see the entire contents of the glove compartment strewn all over the passenger seat. "Fuckin' A!" I scream as I realize she's just got broken into.
Long story short, we find out he's taken her purse, which, luckily enough, only had her IDs and some checks in it. Her debit card was in her pocket. Big relief there, but still... you need the things in that purse! We called the cops and all that, and after putting the car back together, realize he's not taken much at all.. he left her jewelry, all her cd's, including the new ones we had JUST BOUGHT. But know what he did run off with? My dollar store J-Lo-lookalike-shades. I was pissed. He tried to get her Kenwood deck, but the way her fiancee installed it (guy used to do this same shit, too) he used some kind of 'backstrapping' to where there's a trick to taking it out if you don't want to cut it out of the dash altogether. We're pretty sure taking the purse was some last-ditch effort to get something out of the deal, but he didn't even get any cash. Hehehe, he left the $14 in the ashtray. Dumbass. We're pretty sure he was trying to steal the whole car, but we interrupted him by coming outside.
I hate car theives, this shit sucks hardcore. I understand they need to make a living, and all that, but even when he doesn't break windows, and only fucks up locks, it's time consuming. ...and we don't like cops any more than he does.
He's getting hunted for right now.. I offered my office space and some sick ideas if/when we Bind Kidnap and Torture his ass. (Who sees it?)
