Impreza body parts revisited

Post by THAWA »

I know we've done a few of these threads, but I've been looking at this legacy more and more and I'm becoming more and more interested in the way it looks:
Image

I've gotta say, the way the corner lights and the bumper vents line up just makes it look almost stock. The wing I'm not too attracted to, but I've never really been a fan of the big wings on imprezas. I mean some versions look good, but some of the other ones just don't look all that hot. Anyway, it sort of fits the lines of the car because it's sort of boxy still and it goes with the bumper kind of. I'm thinking more along the lines of the impreza coupe/v,2,3,4 wing. It's a bit more tame than the v5-6 :) Anyway, I'm not really sure how all this is going to look, well I'm kinda sure, becauseI'm looking at it now, but I just dont know if I want to do this, ya know. What do you all think?

I think it looks great with the exception of the wing, as you mentioned. It would be interesting to see one like that in a differnet color or atleast with different wheels

I like it except for the wing. I also think it would look better a little bit lower. The front bumper looks real high off the ground.

hehe yeah, the wing...

I wonder what it would look like on a 90-91. I've seen a few versions with the 92-94, those all look pretty good, but no 90-91's

yep thats the one.

i like it. i think its fairly clean for how large it is inactualaty. if you notice though, in the pic at the top of the post the fender was cut to accomodate the bumper. on the yellow one the kit was cut to fit the fender.

as far as kit options go id want to use something simple but agressive such as the trust/greddy lip kit avaible for the 95-99 models legacy and the gc.

The black one would look better with wheels that have fewer spokes, and no wing.
I don't think it would look as good on a 90-91 because of the corner lights.

That yellow... ..thing.. (?) is so fugly, I don't even have a diss for it, that'd give it waaaay too much stature.
How can you like that car? I mean, look at it! It looks like it was attacked by a chopshop who sprayed it with yellow just to cover up what it used to be. The grille isn't even on correctly! To make an intelligent estimate, it looks like that thing's zip-tied to the top, and not the bottom. It's more ghetto than the rest of us would care to be, plain and simple.

Thawa, I like your ideas.. that first pic is a pretty sexy car! I've been looking into getting a 2.5RS bumper, which is what that looks like. I concur, the wing is garrish, and sublety rules all, honk honk.

you should copy the black one, with the wing, but get another one mounted on top of the first, to draw attention away from the first. :)

A biplane kitted legacy would be unique (read:retarded), but probably some aussie beat you to it.
Nothing against aussies, but isn't that where the yellow mess came from?

I say do it, with the exception of that huge wing. I don't mind the wings on the Impreza... but on our car, it would look so weird.

But I think the Impreza kit looks great. I'd like to have it on my car too.

I hear those 2.5RS bumpers are only like ~$135 from the stealership.. that's not bad for a front-end mod with more potential, right?
Now with more room for rally lights!

i like the first pic... looks good except the wing....
i just so happen to have a 90-91 car that could use a little facelift! (the wheels are turning now!)...

if i were to do this what would i all need? i do need new front fenders on both sides, so if it's going to look like crap with the 90-91 sidemarkers i could swap fenders, and find a turbo hood from a 92 and up and the rest of the parts i would need...

kinda new to subarus... learning more everyday thanx to the great people on this site...
1989 chev s10 (work in progress! lotsa a wiring and soon some air ride!)

1990 Legacy L - over 320,000 km and engine finally poo'd the bit! tranny still good though!

People...

Legacies are Legacies, and Imprezas are Imprezas...

:(

To be completely honest, the very first time I saw the first pic of the black Legacy, I immediately thought it was a jacked-up Evo 4... :?

That white car is sweet, but the wing just doesnt work. It looks like it belongs on a different car.
