Best gas mileage you have gotten in your turbo?

Post by dscoobydoo »

OK, like most, I like to push my foot into the turbo. On average, I get 21-22 in town doing that.

So, as a test, I pushed this last tank to see how far I could go.

Keeping the foot out of it, doing 65 mph average and shifting before 3000 rpms (to keep turbo use limited), I only got just under 25mpg.

So what is the best you have done??

( and this was on HIGH octane gas)
Yes I have too many Subarus

I've been getting 22-24 mixed city highway driving, and on several of my trips from Washington to California I was getting 28.

I've been getting lower milage lately so I need to look into that.

My first tank I got 17.6mpg, but that was with a lot of WOT acceleration. My second was 20.6 with mostly easy driving, city and highway mixed. I'm currently on my third tank, about half way through, and at 120 miles.

My longest trip on one tank of gas was about 330 miles. The gas gauge was stuck and still showing half a tank but i decided i better stop at a gas station to be on the safe side so i didnt get stuck in the middle of nowhere nebraska.
