Anyone here use Mac OSX??

I just bought a Mac a few months ago and need some help. How do you password protect a folder on the desktop???

I know that inorder to lock applications from changes you right click and scroll to "get info" and click on the lock. I searched and could not find how to protect folders. Another user name maybe, or a keychain?

hmm.. I'm beginning to think mayber you can only lock users... Perhaps there's some sort of download..

You can also create a read/write encrypted disk image, and copy all your files to it. That's the way I keep my ish secure. Password protection does nothing if the files are stored in plaintext.

Or you can use FileVault to encrypt your home folder.
