5 speed info

Post by max boost »

I bought my 94 legacy turbo a couple of months ago, i bought it with the tranny out of it.
I picked the car up cheap(500 canadian), because the original tranny was out of it. The original tranny was seized, but the guy had just bought another 5 speed for it and was trying to save money to get some one to put it in for him. anyway i picked it up and i just bought a clutch (ACT) and i was getting it already to put back in and then i noticed that the clutch fork was different its a cable system mine is hyd, can i just change the housing so my hyd system will fit and so will my clutch that i just spent a ton of money on or should i just look for another tranny??

The car is worth it its sports sedan fully load aswell

The turbo tranny and n/a legacy trannies are different. Not to mention different gear ratios. So unless he got a 5spd tranny from an early impreza with 3.9 gearing, you're going to need another tranny.

Or another rear differential.

4.11 diffs are pretty common.
