After ripping out this stuff!

Post by rally370 »

My Rally Legacy was a Auto before the previous owner converted it to a manual.
I have so many wires and control units in the car doing nothing
Cruise control,ABS AT control unit(under passenger seat) ABS sensors etc that are not used, infact most of these parts are disconnected.
So if I remove them and remove most of the wiring that goes to them will this upset the Main ECU for the engine control????
It looks like a snakes pit in the car and I just want to tidy up and lose a little weight from the car.

Cheers

One at a time might be a useful strategy
That beer you are drinking cost more than my car

Yes. that's what I'm doing.I've pulled the cruise control unit and the car drove OK,then I took the thingy that's contected to the throttle body via a cable, still drive OK.next will be the AT control unit under the passeger seat and all the wires that go with it.

Cheers

Ok so I've pulled everything now to do with the AT ,each time starting the engine to see if it still starts.
Everything is out and it's OK,but I've not done a road test yet and I have tp disconnect the battery to do some other work so I hope the default setting when powering back up does not give a problem.
One good thing is the ABS light has gone out.

Cheers
