Whiteline 20mm rear anti-sway bar & HD mounts

Post by Legacy777 »

I got the bar and HD mounts in today. Wasn't too bad an install. I had the car up on ramps. The bar took a little to get out, but it wasn't impossible. The mount on the passenger side was a little of a bitch to get out. The front bolt is under the filler neck for the gas tank. I used my new ratcheting wrenches. Pretty damn slick.

Took all the old stuff out, put the new mounts on, left them loose until I got everything on. Putting the new bar in was a little more of a pain then getting the old one out, but I figured it out. Attached the bar to the mounts. I still left everything a little loose. I put the new droplinks in. I was a little unsure on how the bar and links went. I put the links on the outside of the bar. That seemed to work. Once I got everything attached loosely, I tightened up the mounts, and then bar. Then snugged the bar to the links, finally links to the lateral links. They were slightly cock-eyed, but I think that's normal. I tightened them down pretty good, but not too tight.

Results, I can definitely tell a difference. There's much less body roll, and I can feel that the rear end is not tweakin around. It remains pretty stiff around turns. The front end likes squeal a little bit, especially on the inside corner.

Overall I like the results a lot. I've gotta play with tire pressure a little. I bumped the front tire pressure up a little bit.

I'm curious as to what a little larger front bar will do. I definitely have more bar to play with in the rear. I'll play with tire pressures and see how the car drives for the next few weeks.

Whiteline Sways

Post by b44jd »

I have a Legacy (Liberty in Aust'a) B4. Put on Whiteline front and rear (adjustable rear) sways, anti-lift kit and an upper front strut brace. :D

I've also fitted Kings progresive springs which also lowered it about 1".

I'm about to remove the lift kit as I feel the negative, poorer braking, outweighs the positive.

I'll see how I go.

BTW.... all of my gear was fitted by Whiteline themselves.

If you have any questions pls feel free to ask. 8)

Cheers

JD
